I'm at the endgame of the expansion for Skyrim. I have to ride a dragon but don't know how to get on the dragon to ride it. I've done the Bend Will shout and he's humbly waiting for me to mount him but I don't know how to get on. Can someone give me a riding lesson? think

Rowan, is it not the same as mounting a horse?

edit: I read that on the xbox, it's the "activate" command. Did you try using the activate button?

If the controls for the game hasn't change since Oblivion, on PC it should be the E key, I think, to activate things and horses and dragons.

On the Xbox, I think you'll need to A button to activate things, horses, doors and dragons.

Thanks Karsten, I don't have it installed on this computer and couldn't remember what the "activate" button was. wave

There is an arrow above the dragon indicating that he is my target. I have walked all around him but don't get an "E" or any other letter to activate or mount him. That is why I'm baffled. Still haven't managed to do this. confused

Have you tried to mount a horse just to see if you can?

I haven't played Skyrim for over a year so I don't remember trying to ride. I probably did but never used it as a common means of transportation. There must be some easy thing that I am missing.

Row every action you take is with the "E" key. When you need to open a door, talk to someone or any action you take.

When you get next to something that you can interact with you just hit the E key and that's it. When you place your pointer on the object, in this case the dragon, there should be a message to ride and then you hit the E key and you mount the Dragon.

I don't get the "E" prompt. There's just an arrow over the dragon indicating that he is the immediate goal ... but no "E" prompt to ride. I've been all around him and even under him in order to try different angles of approach. No "E" ever shows up. I'm afraid this may be a glitch in my game.

Thanks everyone, but is there anyone who has had a similar problem?

Do you have a save you could go back to?

Yes, I'll have to try that. thanks

Later:
OK, I reloaded a save and this time I got the prompt. I was able to ride the dragon and killed Miraak.

Thank you so much everyone for helping me during a frustrating glitch. thanks I think figuring out the glitch was harder than the end game. wave

Great Rowan. So glad you got it worked out. This was a good DLC but I really preferred Dawnguard but then again that's just me.

Enjoy the rest of the game.
