Or Opera? I use IE and Opera and have no trouble logging in on BFG.

@PATSY

Not sure if you've already done this...
But sometimes it's not the password - could be a space has snuck in after your username?

Try typing in your username again and make sure no space after it..

Ohhh and sometimes it's stupid things like updates to Flashplayer or Shockwave or Java or Air, that's the culprit.

I've also seen browsers refuse to open pages due to an update and settings in the browser automatically got stricter...

I can log-in to BigFish using IE without any problems but can't use their "Contact Us" service with it.
I have to use Firefox for that crazy

Patsy,

You say it worked once. That means you got in. Why are you logging out?

YES!!! That's why I reminded you to try Jenny's suggestion she made a couple of days ago to use another browser - I never saw that you had tried it. I figured that's what it might take. I like Opera, but if you don't like it, there are other browsers out there too. I can't believe the so-called "tech" you paid to try to solve this didn't try this simple thing.

Patsy, this sounds very strange. So sorry you're having all these issues. I know it can be very upsetting.

Are you saying now that you were only able to access Big Fish that one time? And what has logging in have to do with your credit card? Does the login problem happen when you try to buy a game? What do you mean by "grab my cc"?

It sounds like Patsy picked up some malware.
Opera worked when it was a fresh install -- then was probably automatically infected when she used it and now no longer works properly. That's how I'm reading her posts anyway.

I just logged into BFG using IE and Opera, no problems encountered, so it isn't the browsers she's using.

Patsy I would suggest, after what Jenny and Drac suspect, you do a boot scan of your HD and any backup drives or devices you have connected to your computer. Something is infecting your browsers that isn't being picked up with a regular HD scan. Some of these beasties hide in the boot sector of the HD and can only be detected when a scan of the sector is run.

now I put Opera and then Firefox. They let me in 1 time each, then not again. I have called them 3 times and now can't get on again.

Patsy,
You need to check your computer for malware. If you can't do it yourself, you'll need to have someone do it for you. Is there a computer repair shop near you? You'd need to tell them the symptoms -- and that you think malware is blocking you from being able to log into Big Fish.

That's what happens when you're infected with a virus -- and the virus infects every program that you run. Firefox and Opera worked right the first time because they hadn't been infected yet. After you ran them, they became infected and wouldn't run properly any more.

You need to get this cleaned up, and I don't think we can do it from here. Someone has to run scans on your computer and determine whether the virus/malware can be removed or not.

I think Patsy has already paid someone an outrageous amount of money to clean up her computer. At least I THINK that's the way I read this...

Quote:
Hi, Jenny. I charged about $250.00 on my cc. (can't buy Big Fish, so I gave a master tech a try) he cleaned and dumped and installed and now it still won.t take my password. I don't understand why I'm the only one with this problem. They eve reset my settings. Thanks Jenny for trying

If that's the case, this guy may have charged her $250 for nothing.

If that's the case, then he didn't complete the job. He may have gotten rid of the virus, but it either reinfected or left damaged files behind. It sounds like he didn't check logging into the Big Fish website though, or he would have realized there's still a problem.

They even reset my settings.

That's not going to help with a virus. It may or may not help with corrupted registry settings.

If BFG is the only site Patsy is having trouble with, would a virus, or something, be the cause? Don't these type infections keep a person from going to any site? It isn't affecting her access to GB, because she's here asking for help. So why pick on BFG?

Is there a log that can be watched to see what processes are occurring when logging in or going to a site? If so, it would help to know what's occurring when she tries to login at BFG.

I'm not clear from Patsy's description whether any other sites are affected. But virus certainly can pick on certain sites -- espececially if they're sites that the infected computer frequently visits. It seems that what's affected is the login process that Big Fish uses, which may be different from the login process GB uses in some way.

I guess you could use Sysinternals tools like Process Explorer or Process Monitor to try to track what's going on.

Do you mean you want to use your credit/coupon rather than have your cc charged for the game?

In any case, it sounds like you're having trouble with the secure sign in for Big Fish, but not the initial sign in. Secure logins are a little different than regular logins. I checked Big Fish's help page, and besides the usual advice for making sure email and PW are correct, clearing the browser cache, and trying another browser, they advise this:

Quote:
If the issue persists, make sure that the date and time settings on your computer are correct:

1.Right click on the Time/Clock display in the bottom right corner of your screen, then select Adjust date/time.

2.Make sure that the date and time settings are configured to use your current date and time. Confirm that your Time Zone is set correctly and then click OK.
Trouble Signing in to Big Fish Account

Big Fish also suggests checking out this page for more help:
Trouble with Secured Logins Using IE

The Windows site offers more advanced troubleshooting, but I thought you might want to double-check your computer time and date--since that advice hadn't been suggested yet.
