You'll need to right-click the game exe or shortcut and choose to "Run As Administrator."
This is different from being logged in as an administrator.

If this is a Big Fish game, you'll have to set your computer to display hidden files because Big Fish hides the actual game exe. Then look for the game exe in the game folder, right-click it, and choose "Run As Administrator." You may want to send a shortcut from that exe to your desktop. The shortcut Big Fish puts on your desktop doesn't go straight to the game exe -- it goes to the Game Manager -- which doesn't help with running as an administrator.

If it's not a Big Fish game, ignore the 2nd paragraph in my post and just do the first paragraph.

If you still have problems, try running in Compatibility mode. (right-click the shortcut --> Properties --> Compatibility tab --> Set compatibility to Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows NT, or Windows XP (if one doesn't work, try another one).

I'm not sure what you OS is, but to add to what Jenny's already stated - if you're running Windows 7 (or above) try installing the game to your User Folders.

The User folders are located off of the boot drive as: C:\Users\your login name. Most installers allow you to override the default location of C:\Program Files. The program files folder is protected under Windows 7.

Why would you want to do that?
Isn't that the opposite of what you want to do?

Which of the following have you tried?

1. Right-click the game exe and choose to "Run As Administrator." Enter the username and password of an account with Administrative privileges.

2. Try the different compatibility modes for earlier versions of Windows.

3. Uninstall the game and Reinstall in the User's Documents folder instead of C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86)

Robert,

I think you're mixing up your ID as the Administrator of the computer with Run as Administrator for the game. You don't have to change your computer ID. Change it back to Administrator from standard user.

Don't bother finding the User folder. Tell the game to install to My Documents. It will play from there. Then, if you have a problem, you can right click on the game icon on your desktop and choose Run as Administrator or do any of that other stuff like picking a compatibility mode.

Good luck!

Gil.
