Signs Of Insanity

The Warning Signs of Insanity...

Everyone you meet appears to have tentacles growing out of places that you wouldn't expect tentacles to be growing from.

You start out each morning with a 30-minute jog around the bathroom.

You write to your mother in Germany every week, even though she sends you mail from Iowa asking why you never write.

Every time you see a street sign, you have a tremendous urge to relieve yourself on it.

You wear your boxers on your head because you heard it will ward of evil dandruff spirits.

You're always having to apologize to your next door neighbour for setting fire to his lawn decorations.

Every commercial you hear on the radio reminds you of death.

People stay away from you whenever they hear you howl.

Your breath smells more and more like squirrel dung each passing day.

Nobody listens to you anymore, because they can't understand you through that scuba mask.

You begin to stop and consider all of the blades of grass you've stepped on as a child, and worry that their ancestors are going to one day seek revenge.

You have meaningful conversations with your toaster.

Your father pretends you don't exist, just to play along with your little illusion.

You collect dead windowsill flies.

Every time the phone rings, you shout, "Hey! An angel just got its wings!"

You like cats. Especially with mayo.

You cry at the end of every episode of Gilligan's Island because they weren't rescued.

You put tennis balls in the microwave to see if they'll hatch.

You have a predominant fear of fabric softener.

Your dentist asks you why each individual tooth has your name etched on it, and you tell him it's for security reasons.

Melba toast excites you.

When the waiter asks for your order, you ask to go into another room to tell him because "the napkins have ears."

You tend to agree with everything your mother's dead uncle tells you.

You argue with yourself about which is better, to be eaten by a koala or to be loved by an infectious disease.

You like to sit in cornfields for prolonged periods of time, and pretend that you're a stalk.

You try to make a list of the Warning Signs of Insanity. (cough)

People offer you help, but you unfortunately interpret this as a violation of your rights as a boysenberry.

You keep thinking this is the year for the Red Sox.

You despise the voices in your head, especially the one that speaks only Hindi.

You see migrating flocks of ducks in the fall and only your attachment to the toaster keeps you from joining them.

The person you always talk to is invisible to everyone but you.

You like reading lists like this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Signs Of Maturity
1. Your house plants are alive, and you can't smoke any of them.
2. Having sex in a twin bed is out of the question.
3. You keep more food than beer in the fridge.
4. 6:00 AM is when you get up, not when you go to bed.
5. You hear your favorite song on an elevator.
6. You watch the Weather Channel.
7. Your friends marry and divorce instead of hook up and break up.
8. You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14.
9. Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as "dressed up."
10. You're the one calling the police because those [blip] kids next door won't turn down the stereo.
11. Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you.
12. You don't know what time Taco Bell closes anymore.
13. Your car insurance goes down and your payments go up.
14. You feed your dog Science Diet instead of McDonalds leftovers.
15. Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt.
16. You no longer take naps from noon to 6 PM.
17. Dinner and a movie is the whole date instead of the beginning of one.
18. Eating a basket of chicken wings at 3 AM would severely upset, rather than settle, your stomach.
19. You go to the drug store for ibuprofen and antacid, not condoms and pregnancy tests.
20. A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer "pretty good stuff."
21. You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time.
22. "I just can't drink the way I used to," replaces, "I'm never going to drink that much again."
23. 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work.
24. You no longer drink at home to save money before going to a bar.
25. You read this entire list looking desperately for one sign that this doesn't apply to you.
Yesterday was just like the other day, but not as cool. cool
I expect today to be another day. thumbsup
It may, however, be a night instead, if the sun doesn't come up, which would be ok with me, although it'll most likely mean the end of the world. think
Good Morning Joe, Midge, Ana, Cailyn, Haroula, Gerry, Darlene, Venus, Connie, Gail and the rest of the Diner gang when you are up and at em this morning
Had a great walk in the park this morning with WOM and the buddy boys .. a great way to start the day by exciting endogenous opioid peptides!
What's next? Well, lots of music, gardening, some flapper assembly cleaning, a baseball game tonight with WOM, son and grand boys .. a movie? Quite a lineup I might say.
In the mean time .. enjoy the weekend! wave
Super Sunday ya'll puppy
Soot and I slept in a bit and then bopped to the park with the crew. It is such a pretty day out there. We enjoyed our hamster imitation, then home to feed everyone while taking in CBS Sunday Morning.
In a sec, we are going to watch Jack Reacher. Son and kids stayed at friend's house last night so the house is quiet.
The plan is to take in a ball game tonight as long as son doesn't get called back into work. I need to convince him not answer his phone when he is off.
Joe, you need to be stocking the corner with mom's yummies. Are you off?
Midgy, birthday to your DIL. Are you working tomorrow?
Quest, whatcha up to today?
Ana, hang in there. I'll be at the end of the tunnel shining a light for you. Is tomorrow pot luck? luck
Darlene, have fun wherever the day brings.
Haroula, how is hubby's garden doing?
Cailyn, Thanks for the coffee! How are you?
Gerry, stay warm and dry.
Venus, happy whooshing!
Connie, biscuit bottoms happydance Enjoy your breakfast.
Gail, stay dry and well. How are you feeling?
Soot kissy
Nice day out. Everyone in the US has arrived to San Diego to go to the Beach. Yup, we are the #1 destination on Memorial Day. Last night, the Seal Pool (Children's Pool) at La Jolla had more people than seals. Loads of touristy people all over, but it's nice because the stores where I shop are really empty. Nice to have elbow room. I just stay away from all the 'sights' and the beaches and it's great.
Found a nice unbreakable, non-yellowing, thin plastic thingy that goes under the license plate frame and over the plate. Won't have any more tags stolen unless they take the entire plate. Hope they don't go that far. Mine are personalized and I'd have to pay mega bucks to get them replaced.
I advised the clerk at the thrift store about my stolen tag and asked if anyone else reported anything strange. He just looked at me with a blank stare. Dunno if it was because he didn't want to admit things were going on, or he just thought I was a nutsy lady. Oh well. Going to park near the door from now on if possible when I go there.
Come to think of it, I remember overhearing some conversation between workers there about a week ago. Something about the parking lot and guys. Hummm might be them and they are up to no good. Loads of transients in our area. The weather is so nice they all hang around here. All over town, not just in the shopping areas. Always several of them walking up my street, pushing carts, going through my trash. I am sad to say I actually am beginning to recognize them and some of them say hi to me. These aren't just down on their luck homeless, some of them actually have vehicles which they use for 'less savory' activities. City has offered them help, training, you name it, but they resist.
Off for shopping and getting car gas. Hoping the price is under 4 bucks but not holding my breath.
'Morning, again, sweet 'Boomies!
Got a text from daughter this morning. She has to find a dress and shoes for the upcoming wedding of a sorority sister. The text says, Come shopping with me, mom! hearts
So, after church, Hubby will drop me off at her house and we'll shop this afternoon. Then she suggested salmon on the grill with artichokes for dinner, and a round or two of bocce ball! Fab-U-Lous!
Alrighty, gotta skoosh! See you later!
Still in need of a few extra arms, legs and hours. lol My poor dogs are restless and I came home to eat and put items away that need the fridge and they are relentless in their howling for me to take them out. Who needs sleep, right? Off we go to get a run in before tackling the next task at hand. I love my dogs....
So what is everyone doing tomorrow?
Son and the kids are going back to the lake. I think we'll join them for just a bit. We are not up for all day water and sun anymore, but going for a couple of hours with the dogs would be fun.
Looks like the game tonight is a go. Son and kids are napping. Good thing that hubby checked. It's starting at 6, not 7 like it usually does.
Hubby and I watched Argo last night and Jack Reacher just awhile ago. We enjoyed them both very much.
Nan, what are you up to tonight? Is the taxi running?
Sorta, not everyone...I'm still in Al wink Glad you found something for your license plate. What are you doing tomorrow?
Darlene, happy shopping!
Haroula, love getting fresh veggies from the garden. Will you make bread with it, or can them?
Ana, you need a stable of clones. wave
Hello everyone. wave
Work was the usual run run run and run some more. happydance
Got off at three, came home and didn't waste much time going to the creek with Baby. puppy
After several hot sweaty hours, and no finds, we came home, and I gave Baby a bath. She loves romping around in the creek, but she hates baths. lol
Last night in bed I was awakened twice by ticks crawling on me, and I'm going to make sure that it doesn't happen again. eek
Also last night I walked into the front foyer to lock the door, and was surprised by a snake slithering around. scared
I chased it around, and pinned it down with my arrowhead case. lol
I don't think it was poisonous so I let it go......................................in my sister's room. rotfl
I hope everyone had a great day.
joe
