I'm in the passage with the moving rooms and all of the doors. I consulted the walk through but I don't get the same doors that the walk through lists. I'm totally lost. I get doors with a symbol like a reversed c with a cross on top.
Or the inverted version of that symbol.
And no matter what door I click on I end up at the moon door with the basin.
I don't know where to go.

When you end up at the moon door with the basin, I see the following in the walkthrough:

Click to open Moon door. Do not go in. Turn around. Hear it move behind you. Turn around again to Moon door.

Click to open Moon door again. Enter to see a basin at center of room. Take the map.

Are you able to take the map? wave

I have the map. But I get other symbols on the door than what is listed in the walk through.
(Actually my game has been different from the walk through. I never had to make Lou Lou a cake to get the words. She just gave me the words.)

I keep getting doors with the reverse c with a cross (+ sign) on it. And then the inverted symbol of that. ^^

I would recommend that you start from a saved game before you enter this maze. Once you go to a room that is not correct, the walkthrough will not work (whichever one you use).

Also there is a short cut for this:
Go back to a saved game after getting the luminous rock.
Open the door and go forward.
Open the Mars door - male symbol.
Do not enter, turn around.
Do it again (open , do not enter, turn around.
Then go forward to the Mercury door (female symbol with horns)and exit the maze.
Remember this short cut to use later.

When I get to the room with the grill floor and wall is where it changes. I turn around and the rooms don't move. It always stays the room with the grill floor.
And if I go to the Mercury door there is a wall. It doesn't change from this point.

If and when you have to go back to these rooms again do you have to go through all of them again? Or can you use the shortcut?

Just a FYI, once you make it into the forge, you find a paper telling you that shortcut.

stonzee,

You have to do the same sequence several times.
You can do the shortcut even before entering - go back to a saved game.

Once you are at grilled floor:
Do not enter or you die. Turn around. See that you now face a Mars door.

Turn around again to Mercury door. Click to open and see a wall. Do not enter. Turn around. Go forward to Mars door.

Click to open Mars door and see wall. Do not enter. Turn around.

Turn around again. Click to open Mars door and see a room. Do not enter. Turn around. Check map and see that it is across the devil square.

Turn around again. Click to open Mars door and see a wall. Do not enter. Turn around.

Turn around again. Click to open Mars door and see a room. Do not enter. Turn around. Check map and see that it is across the angel square.

Go forward to the Mercury door, click and enter.

wave Gerry.
Thanks, LadyLinda.

I finally found my way to the alchemy door. I don't know how because the grill floor room didn't change so I just went through the opposite door.

What confused me is that the room with the basin (where you get the map) there are four doors with the sun symbol. I had to try all of them to get where I was trying to go.

So in order to go back to the alchemy door I have to do all of that again?

This still doesn't work. Trying to get back to the alchemy door I followed the instructions in the walk through completely. It doesn't get me back to the alchemy door. When I get to the room with the grill floor it doesn't change. No matter if I turn around a thousand times the room with the grill floor is still there. How do I get back to the alchemy door?

I can't do the shortcut because I don't remember where I got the luminous stone and don't have a saved game for that.

This doesn't work because the room with the grill floor is always there. It never changes and once I turn around that room doesn't change.

stonzee,

Here's the UHS hints that might help.

I have a map saved game and a lab saved game. I am not sure if those old saved games will work with new release of the game.
If you want them tell me.

Finally got through by just going through Mercury doors. Now I can't solve the wind puzzle. Every time I land on a wind it says "nooooooo" and resets. How do you get credit for landing on the winds? I am really getting to hate this game.

The blue button resets the whole game. There is a paper/book in the laboratory that explains that some winds are stronger than others. The arrows will move you either two squares or one square. Save your game every time you have captured a wind, and avoid the black squares. This puzzle is random, so there is no one particular solution. You need to capture all four winds of north, south, east, and west. wave

I understand that. But when I do land on a wind (not a trap) the game says "noooooo" and resets. I don't get that wind captured.

Here are some more tips that I found:

If you get close to any of the winds, they will blow you away.
You catch them by landing on top of them.
You can move one or 2 squares in the puzzle.
There are black squares that are traps. You do not want to land in any of them or you lose.
Try not to be blown to the left large area. It is difficult to get out of there. So catch the East wind first.
Be sure that you sneak up on them from the side that they cannot blow on you - like top-bottom squares for East and West winds and right-left squares for North-South winds.
So, identify the wind you're trying to catch. wave

I am really beginning to dislike Ethel. She's always popping up unexpectedly. She's just creepy.

Thanks for the advice. Finally got that puzzle done.
