Hi. I will be heading to Portland,Oregon/Seattle Washington area in about 2 weeks. I am wondering what kind of cloths to pack. Jeans, yoga pants, capri's? Long sleeved tops, short sleeved (cami underneath), sweatshirt? Jacket, lined, rain, windbreaker, heavy? Any info would be appreciated by you locals. If you need more info please let me know. Thanks, Terri

Thanks Ana. Why in the word did I think you lived in Washington? I am so ready to get "out of town". My husband will be staying home, he doesn't fly, so we will both get a bit of a break. Thanks again! Terri

Terri, you'll need rain gear and recommend both summer and cool weather wear.
Many things to see in both states so wish you a great time.

Terri the only thing you mentioned that you don't need to bring is a heavy jacket. It can be rainy but when the sun shines in Seattle, and the sky is clear, you can see Mount Rainier big as life! A beautiful place to visit!

I was going to answer you but 3dobermans pretty much covered it. Our climate is very changeable. It can be cold and raining one day, or minute and hot and sunny the next. It is very diverse as we have ocean, lakes and rivers, mountains, beaches, deserts and even caves!!! I hope you have a wonderful trip.

Thank you fellow boomers. No parkas needed, super. We will be going to an elevation of 6000/8000 ft, can't remember which one. My daughter's husband has set up the itinerary and I see we will pretty well cover it all Lotus. The mountains, beach and the caves. Don't forget I'm from Texas and we're used to the heat, hope I don't freeze! Ana. After I posted I realized that you and I have had this discussion before, I knew you weren't from Washington. I think I had envisioned you in the mountains of Washington hiking with your dogs, don't know why. Many senior moments here! Terri

Thanks for your input. My daughter said she was going to layer her clothing, I'm still in thought. We don't need any type of coat or heavy jacket if we play in the snow? Terri

Oregon and Washington are beautiful... I am sure you will enjoy you time there... the shore line in Oregon is breath taking!!!! Closing my eyes I can remember long walks on the beach... hugh Douglas Furs lying on the shore..... the sound of the ocean beating against the beach.... ahhhhhhhhhhh......
