Hi guys

I found a recipe using essential oils which is supposed to keep bugs off. As I can't (and no one near me can) use any of the commercially available bug sprays, I thought I'd like to try this.

I know the terms "therapeutic grade" and "aromatherapy grade" have no defined meaning. Does anyone have a source that they use and trust for good quality essential oils?

I called my friend who works as a masage therapist at a spa. Here is her recommendation.

I hope that helps a bit.

I am not a huge fan of Avon, but a friend of mine gave me some of their bug spray - can't remember what they call it. I was the ultimate test as I frequently spent time down in creeks checking out sewage treatment outfalls (yes, I had a very glamorous job!). It worked better than anything else for me.

Hi Drac. I think it's called Skin So Soft.

I had to go get my can... it has the Skin So Soft name on it in small letters, but it's called Avon Bug Guard. I remember Skin So Soft was supposed to keep bugs away, but lab tests didn't really prove it one way or another. I'm not sure what is in the Bug Guard, but it sure worked for me down in those creeks when I was being swarmed by mosquitoes!
