I'm confused. The word you accepted for the next to last clue is "frame". It's 3rd letter is "a", so how can the last word in the quote be "game?"

That's what I get for memorizing answers. "frame" was an answer from the Add-A-Word puzzle. You're right. I shouldn't have accepted it. The correct answer for that clue is "tempt".
