World Domains

Everyone knows that if you are going to operate a business in today's world you need a domain name. It is advisable to look at the domain name selected as other see it and not just as you think it looks. Failure to do this may result in situations such as the following (legitimate) companies who deal in everyday humdrum products and services but clearly didn't give their domain names enough consideration:

1. A site called Who Represents where you can find the name of the agent that represents a celebrity. Their domain name wait for it is www.whorepresents.com

2. Experts Exchange, a knowledge base where programmers can exchange advice and views at www.expertsexchange.com

3. Looking for a pen? Look no further than Pen Island at www.penisland.net

4. Need a therapist? Try Therapist Finder at www.therapistfinder.com

5. Then of course, there's the Italian Power Generator company. www.powergenitalia.com

6. And now, we have the Mole Station Native Nursery, based in New South Wales: www.molestationnursery.com

7. If you're looking for computer software, there's always www.ipanywhere.com

9. Then, of course, there's these brainless art designers, and their whacky website: www.speedofart.com

10. Want to holiday in Lake Tahoe? Try their brochure website at www.gotahoe.com

Yes, they are real.

A mighty fire had been raging at a Texas oil refinery. Fire engines from all around had tried in vain to get close enough to the fierce blaze to put it out, but the heat was so intense that no one could even get near the burning oil and gas. Hundreds of fire trucks from far and wide had been called and now they all just sat wondering what to do.
Suddenly, an old fire engine from a tiny fire company appeared in the distance. It was the only truck from a tiny town and had been driving all night in response to this alarm. To the amazement of all of the firemen, the tiny truck sped right past the other fire engines and came to a leisurely halt right at the base of the fire. The men in the tiny truck leaped out, doused themselves with water from their own hoses, and proceeded to extinguish the fire.

The next dat at an awards ceremony for the 6 heoic men of the tiny fire company, the Governor presented the fire chief with a check for $20,000.

"What do you think your fire company will do with such a large amount of money?", asked the Governor.

"Well," replied the old fire chief, "the first thing we're gonna do with it is fix the brakes on that old truck!"

A handsome young man and a beautiful girl met and it was love at first sight. They immediately got married and went on their honeymoon. On their wedding night, the bride went into the bathroom to freshen up.
Unfortunately, she had a case of bad breath so severe she had to take a powerful drug to control it. She was about to take the drug when she decided it would be best to let her husband in on her secret since they would be spending the rest of their lives together.

So she returned to bed without taking the drug.

Her husband then went into the bathroom to freshen up. He also had a problem with foot odor so offensive it required a special preparation to keep it under control. He was about to apply the preparation when he decided it would be better to let his wife know about his problem because she would find out about it sooner or later anyway.

He skipped applying the preparation, returned to bed, grabbed his wife and gave her a big kiss.

She said, "Honey, there's something I have to tell you."

"OK," he said, "but I think I know what it is ... you ate my socks."

The Pope and Queen Elizabeth were standing on a balcony beaming at
thousands of people in the forecourt below. The Queen says to the Pope
out of the corner of her mouth, "I bet you a tenner that I can make
every English person in the crowd go wild with just a wave of my hand."
The Pope says, "No way. You can't do that."
The Queen says, "Watch this."
So the Queen waves her hand and every English person in the crowd goes
crazy, waving their little plastic Union Jacks on sticks and cheering,
basically going ballistic.

So the Pope is standing there thinking, "Uh oh, what am I going to do?
I never thought she'd be able to do it."
So he thinks to himself for a minute and then he turns to her and says,
"I bet you I can make every Irish person in the crowd go wild, not just
now, but for the rest of the week, with just one nod of my head."
The Queen goes, "No way, it can't be done."
So the Pope headbutts her.

A guy has a talking dog. He brings it to a talent scount. "This dog can speak English," he claims to the unimpressed agent. "Okay, Sport," the guys says to the dog, "what???s on the top of a house?" "Roof!" the dog replies. "Oh, come on..." the talent agent responds. "All dogs go roof." "No, wait," the guy says. He asks the dog "what does sandpaper feel like?" "Rough!" the dog answers. The talent agent gives a condescending blank stare. He is losing his patience. "No, hang on," the guy says. "This one will amaze you. " He turns and asks the dog: "Who, in your opinion, was the greatest baseball player of all time?" "Ruth!" goes the dog. And the talent scount, having seen enough, boots them out of his office onto the street. And the dog turns to the guy and says "He must be a DiMaggio fan.?"

Good morning everyboomie. welcome

My days off seem like Christmas. They take forever to get here, and then gone in a flash. shocked

I'm beginning to realize, (after 2 years), that I'm hopelessly addicted to the narcotic effect finding arrowheads.

Yesterday it donned on me that 313 chores is not only impossible for me to get done on 1 day off, but it is also a very unlucky number. think

So......can you say pro-cras-tin-a-tion?

I invoked my right as a card carrying member of
of the World Order of the Fraternal Brotherhood of Procrastinators United. WOOTFBOPU for short. thumbsup

I spent a couple of hours at the creek.

It was a complete waste of time.........and energy. slapforehead

I'll never do that again. rotfl

I did do one chore though. I bought a new freezer at Lowe's yesterday. It was a special order that a customer didn't want because it has a little dent in it from shipping or delivery.

It was almost $700 retail, and I got it for only $200. penguin

It's a chest freezer, and I had it in the back of my truck, so I unloaded it, and transferred the food from a smaller freezer into the new one.

It was hard work.

It took me minutes to get done. grin

It's so hot that I was tempted to put it in my bedroom, and sleep in it.

Gotta run now.

Have a happy day everyone.

joe

Thanks Joe for making me laugh after a very hard day. Sorry it's so hot where you are. I am, however, running my A/C as I type. I'm really enjoying my A/C now that I have it as my last apartment didn't.

Going to bed now. See you on the other side.

Joe, that's a heck of a good deal you got on the freezer! woot Have you closed the vents around the house to get all the cold air directed to your room without freezing out your mom in her room?

Midgie, I am glad you have AC now. I don't mind the heat but I like it cold to sleep.

SpaceQ, have a great day!

Day 1 is behind me and I'm trying to mentally prepare for Day 2. I'm really tired. lol

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning boomies.. There are not enough hours in a day. lol Strange dreams, loud rainfall and my phone going off made sure I was awake every other hour and I'm unusually cranky this morning. Now off to shower and pick up the Yukon Denali from hubbys boss so I can transport the bridal party tomorrow and then to Sams for the rehearsal dinner/BBQ. THere are 60 people coming to her house today so I am sure it will chaotic. lol

Have a great day all!

It's happening! The Snake and TWO sons showed up today with the Niece of the old guy who is in the nursing home and set about emptying the shed of all the boxes of packed stuff that the caretaker and his friends stored in there to get the house cleaned out. Right now, the Niece is sitting under an umbrella and the guys are handing her boxes which she sorts through and then hands them the empty box which goes into the truck probably to recycle.

I'm almost positive SHE is sorting stuff, looking for anything valuable, and is probably going to have a huge yard sale since she's throwing away all the boxes which would be usable if she is taking anything with her, or if she were giving it all to the Snake to sell at the swapmeet, they would keep it all in the boxes. Only empties going into the truck. Hummm she's smarter than I figured.

Can hardly wait to see if there is a yard sale. A lot of the 'stuff' came from MY yard sales. rotfl

Super Saturday ya'll puppy

Hubby let me sleep in, which was great. But that did mean it was super duper hot out there when we headed out to walk. We stayed in the grass as much as possible and deviated to hit shade when we could. 4 miles later and soaked entirely to the skin we came on home to clean up. Nothing is better than a shower when you are in that state.

We got to talk with middle son for a bit as we cooled down and he drove to get the girls. He is having some frustrating computer problems. sad

Hubby is out doing errands and I'll be doing laundry and vacumning. Don't mind the laundry...hate to vacumn but must either vacumn or dress the dust bunnies and give them names.

Joe, those names are hystercal.

Midgy, so glad you have AC. I can function during the day without it (though it is miserable to do so) but I can't sleep without it.

Space, what's up for you this weekend?

Ana, it will be an awesome wedding! Enjoy and once it's over, collapse and rest and congratulate yourself.

Haroula wave

Gerry, what's up for you this weekend?

Gail, how are you feeling? Please send us some "nice"...it's hot hot hot here. I really need to become a reverse snow bird. I wonder what that name would be?

Connie, luck to your SIL. I've always heard that the key to those being successful depending on how willing the patient was to do the rather miserable therapy afterwards. May your SIL do great!

Soot kissy

Sorta, it's good that she is supervising. What will you do when the ongoing soapy is finally over?

Darlene wave

L4L, it will never be over. I know there will always be drama surrounding that house no matter what.

BUT I did get brave and on our morning walk, my friend and I went up to the park and back on the empty house side where the Niece was working. The big pick up truck that I thought was one of the Snake's sons was gone so I figured it might be safe to approach.

Friend and I introduced ourselves, inquired about maybe a yard sale? and chatted with the Niece for a little while. Two guys came out of the house, but they weren't the Snake or the son that I am familiar with.

SHE walked over to a blanket on which were several junky broken items AND she picked up what used to be a lovely blown white glass with embossed floral pattern and asked the guys what happened to it. They mumbled something but she told them in no uncertain terms that, "you need to be more careful, this was made in Germany, it's ruined, don't just toss things, I know it was an accident but be more careful, and I want to see each and every item you bring out before you toss it."

I LIKE that lady! Not only was she kn the know about stuff, but she handled it well and with authority and I can see that nobody is going to put anything over on her unless she is really blindsided.

We chatted about her Uncle and how he was doing. Already knew that he wasn't good, but she confirmed that. "He won't be coming home". Also found out that she had been handling his 'bills' since a few months back when she first flew out here and that she knew about the water bill and let the water be shut off after the non-payment was noticed.

I offered the use of my bathroom if she needed it and something cold to drink, etc. She was appreciative but probably won't take advantage.

And I jokingly told her that I was responsible for part of her Uncle's hoard since he bought a bunch of stuff from my yard sales. She was so sweet and put her hand on my shoulder and said, "Oh honey (in a lovely southern accent) it's not your fault, some people are just collectors" How nice of her. Sweet but gutsy lady. I'm so thrilled that she is in charge and things are being handled like they should.

Now to see when and if the place goes up for sale.

Well I didn't go to work tonight. I'm really not feeling good. I did work this morning but came straight home because I was not good at all. I called the Dr's office and she said if I wasn't feeling any better in the morning to go in to get seen. I feel like I have a fever but I don't have a thermometer and I'm not going anywhere. I know I have a hernia and I'm wondering if it has anything to to with how I'm feeling tonight. Oh well, I'm hoping that I'll be OK tomorrow. I have work in the morning but it will be a short shift. I have a Dr's appointment on Wednesday but I didn't want to wait that long. We'll see.

Night all.
