Hi ho, Hi ho To work I will not go. joe joe from cocomo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There was a man and his wife walking down the road on their way home. The wife saw a baby skunk laying in the grass, so she decided to take it home and take care of it. On the way home they came up to a river. The wife, concered for the skunk, asked her husband what to do with the skunk so he doesn't get wet. The husband replied: "well, stick him up your dress". The wife, again concered, asked: "what about the smell?". The husband replied: "awww, he'll get use to it." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fay Chester was a busy housewife with a demanding husband, six children and a large house. The only relief she got from her chores was the twice-a-week bridge game she shared with a dozen other women. The only flaw in the bridge club relationship was that Fay loved to tell off-color stories and the girls didn't want to hear them. To teach Fay a lesson, the other women decided that the next time she told an off-color story, they'd just get up, walk out, meet at another home but without Fay. Sure enough, at the next meeting, Fay started, "You know, girls, there's a rumor going around that a busload of prostitutes will be leaving in the morning for that big gold find up in Alaska, and they say...." Just then, the women all stood up and started for the door. Fay was disconcerted but only for a moment, then she understood what was going on and said, "Hey! Girls! Hold on, hold on! There's plenty of time 'cause the bus doesn't leave till morning!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A) The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. (B) On the other hand, the French eat a lot of fat and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. (C) The Japanese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. (D) The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans (E) Conclusion: Eat & drink what you like. It's speaking English that kills you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At one point during a game, the coach said to one of his young players, "Do you understand what cooperation is? What a team is?" The little boy nodded in the affirmative. "Do you understand that what matters is whether we win together as a team?" The little boy nodded yes. "So," the coach continued, "when a strike is called, or you're out at first, you don't argue or curse or attack the umpire. Do you understand all that?" Again the little boy nodded. "Good," said the coach. "Now go over there and explain it to your mother." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A man joins a big corporate empire as a trainee. On his very first day of work, he dials the pantry and shouts into the phone - "Get me a coffee, quickly!" The voice from the other side responded, "You fool you've dialed the wrong extension! Do you know who you're talking to, dumbo?" "No," replied the trainee. "It's the CEO of the company, you fool!" The trainee shouts back, "And do YOU know who YOU are talking to, you fool?!" "No." replied the CEO indignantly. "Good!" replied the trainee, and puts down the phone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A little guy gets on a plane and sits next to the window. A few minutes later, a big, heavy, strong, mean-looking, hulking guy plops down in the seat next to him. The huge man glares threateningly at his neighbor, crowds the little guy so much that he's flattened against the window, and immediately falls asleep. After the plane takes off, the little guy starts to feel a little air sick, but he's afraid to wake the big guy up to ask if he can go to the bathroom. After a few attempts, he realizes that he can't climb over him, and so the little guy is sitting there, looking at the big guy, trying to decide what to do. Suddenly, the plane hits an air pocket and an uncontrollable wave of nausea passes over the little fellow. He just can't hold it in any longer and finally pukes all over the big guy's chest. About five minutes later the big guy wakes up, looks down, and sees the barf all over his chest. "So," the little guy says brightly, "are you feeling better now?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Good morning everyboomie. I really love a week where Saturday follows Tuesday, don't you? It's kinda like leap year though. It only happens once every 4 weeks. It's a leap week. I'm leaping for joy as I speak. Leaping lizards will you look at the time. I've got to get to my bedroom, leap into bed, and count leaping sheep. Leap tight everybody. Have a happy day. joe

Wonderful Wednesday ya'll Hubby and I had a great walk. It was in the 70's and we actually saw the sun. I really struggled for the first half....just couldn't find my stride. Thought for a bit there we were going to have to come home, but instead I just kept slowing down and starting and stopping til walking ceased to hurt. Then home for our normal morning routine. I'll be bopping out to get Keoki to the vet for an Adequan shot. I'm hoping that with the shot we can cut back on his rimadyl. I've noticed that he is slower getting up these days and I want to keep him moving as long as possible. He is fine once he gets moving so maybe the adequan will make the getting up process less painful for him. After the vet, I'll bring Keoki home and then go get some groceries. Soot usually gets groceries for us every day on his way home, but his schedule this week is too hectic for that. Once it's all put away it will be time to get tomorrow's dinner into the crock pot and start tonight's dinner, cos I know once I sit down it will all be over.

Good morning to all.
Woke up to rain and thunder. All gone now and it is starting to get hot. Mid 90's and humid. We got Cory out for his walk and ended up gabbing with a couple of the neighbors.
Don't have any plans for today so it looks like a good day to just goof off. Tomorrow is haircut day for both of us, then Friday morning Bill has an eye doc appointment, which means I need to go with him to drive him back home.
Have a great day everyone.

Joe, L4L, soot, Gail, Connie, Gerry, Sue, Haroula and Bets hope you all are enjoying the day. If you've heard the news today I am sure you have seen that we are floating away here. I feel so bad for the people who are still cleaning up from the damage a few months ago and are once again swimming in their homes. Our drought is clearly over. I lost the fight on the bug that hubby and half the family and bridal party had. I feel like a very long freight train ran over me. It's gonna be a long day. I really just want to go back to bed. My poor Jersey family is still trying to get home. Ana

Hello my friends Flyby here. Tomorrow is driving-to-Italy time and then I have a lot of time to write to you - holiday at last! I really hope that the Internet in Italy is behaving! Nan: I'am so sorry about greatgranddaughter. She is definitely hurting your heart and that of the kids. Why is she doing that? Prayers heading your way! Ana: poor Jersey family of yours. They could have walked to Jersey in the meantime. Can't they take a train instead of an airplane? I hope that the planes will fly again soon. So sorry to hear about the flooding. Are you safe? Get well soon L4L: thank you for your concerne. Head much better. You take care of your poor tummy. Hugs to you. Will come online as soon as I can in Italy. If the Internet isn't working, I'am definitely texting to Ana. Love and hugs and kisses from Evelyne

This is going to be a beauty day....because, and Sorta you can relate, none of my 4 footers threw up after breakfast. It's like a vacation.
And resolved not to complain about the hot weather because Alaska is having 80-90 degree heat. Yup, Google had a picture of Alaskans sunbathing at the shore. I believe the caption claimed not since 1917 so hot.
Metro last light is a good game, intreguing, however it doesn't stir up the old adrenaline like Killzone 2 does. I've played that K'Zone game so much I know what they will say next.
Well, dishes to do then errands then playtime

Hey Yankee! What a great day for you and the furry ones. Wow a day without cleaning up the floor? Awesome.
In other news: The yard kid showed up today, instead of yesterday (he promised promised) so I asked if he was working. He was, for my neighbor. She's been waiting for him for 3 weeks to reappear. We thought he was arrested (had a warrant) but not so.
He showed up Sunday with an employee badge from IKEA. Had his picture and everything. He said he was hired there and had been working and the judge vacated the warrant. Uhhuh.
So he promised to come Tuesday to work for the neighbor. Never showed but she was gone anyway so it was OK. Today I wanted him to do some stuff for me after he finished with her, but although he said yes, and told HER he was headed over to my house after he finished, I saw him walking by at a very fast pace and he never came back.
Neighbor was angry as was I. You see, I had loaned him 10 bucks Sunday because he said he needed bus/trolley money to get home. Uhhuh. Never again. He owes me now and either he works it off or he pays me cash. I wonder how long it will take till we see him again?
He said he didn't show yesterday because IKEA called him to come in on his day off. OK so why isn't he working today? It's NOT his day off. I just can't believe anything he says anymore.
So yard kid is cutting the neighbor's hedge that divides me from her and it gets high and we can't see each other. It's for safety so we can watch each other's places. Yard kid is using her electric hedge trimmer and I hear him NOT shutting it off (it will overheat if you run it constantly) so I go out and he is ON HIS cellphone, just holding the trimmer at his side. I guess he thinks he can fool everyone that he's working if we hear the trimmer running.
At that point I yelled across the driveway to turn it off when he's not using it or it would burn out like he did with my electric trimming saw. Yup, he did that.
So I call my neighbor, tell her I handled the constant running bit and warned her that even though he said he could spend the entire day, that he would probably soon be coming to her door with an 'emergency'.
I was RIGHT! A few minutes later, he had to leave to 'go get a physical'. Well, this didn't jibe with 'all day available' or 'going to do my house next' and it's always after a phone call that the 'emergency' occurs. I've got his number now. Ha.
She was forewarned and told him he had to FINISH the job or not get paid till he did. Suddenly, he could wait awhile and finish. Yup. We are getting smart here. So he finishes, gets paid, tells her he's coming directly to me and never arrives.
I called her way later and she was shocked because he had just told her he was going to my house. Lying is getting worse and worse.
My best guess is he's not hired by IKEA, that he's probably in a trainee class and decided that today he didn't want to go. We shall see when he comes up with some story about why they 'fired' him. Probably it will be that some other guy there attacked him. It's the usual story.
I can hardly wait for the next time AND wait for him to come and do the work for me OR pay me the 10 bucks he owes. Not holding breath.

Hello everybody. Mama Mia I'm tired!! I spent the better part of the day mowing and trimming our entry, and the road up to the mansion here. Well I take that back. It wasn't the better part of the day because I wasn't laying down, and it was the hotter part of the day. Like 95 degrees. I had to mow it all by push mower, and it was a killer. It looks so much better though. I'm also tired because I only slept 4 or 5 hours last night. After I got home at around 11:00, and showered and came here and posted the diner, it was pretty late. Then go up at 7:00, and I'm pooped. I hope everyone is good this evening. Evie have a safe trip. joe

Well, dinner is over. Dogs are fed. Kitchen is cleaned. Now it's time to fold a couple of baskets of clothes as soon as hubby carries them up to the bedroom. Then it will be time to curl up with a book. Sweet dreams ya'll
