The answers to the following questions all contain the word 'no' somewhere in the middle. Can you work out the answer from the clues given?
Ex:take the short version of company and a Freudian term, and insert 'no' for cone shaped. Co and id with no inserted gives you conoid.

-1.Take the short name for a car in America and a word for 'belonging to me' and insert 'no' for self-government. 8 letters, starts with a

-2.Take the French underground and a word meaning 'myself' and insert 'no' for an instrument to mark musical time. 9m

-3.Take a Spanish word for house and the abbreviation for Virginia and insert 'no' for a legendary lover. 8c

-4.Take the opposite to 'out' and an American coin, insert 'no' to find 'not guilty'. 8i

-5.Take a word meaning to come first and part of a bird and insert 'no' to find a word for fanning chaff from grain. 9w

-6.Take the direction opposite NE and a word meaning to let fall and insert 'no' for an early spring flower. 8s

-7.Take short names for Maureen and Anthony and insert 'no' for a word meaning a tedious lack of variety. 8m

-8.Take one of the indefinite articles and an art gallery in London, insert 'no' to make notes on a book. 8a

9.Take U and an enclosure for sheep and a short form of Edward and insert 'no' for something sealed (e.g. a letter). 8u

-10.Take another word for an actor's role and a female fowl and insert 'no' for a Greek ruin. 9p
