Seems like most of the games I've played lately have an animal that helps you out. Most common is dog. But I've also been helped by birds and monkeys and in one case an animated gargoyle.
Currently Playing:
Adventure Game: Broken Age
Casual: Redemption Cemetery: One Foot In The Grave
Darkside: The Witcher

I love it Guy. Adds something to the game.

I like the animal helpers too. They add a bit of levity.

I just finished a game that had a raccoon and a baby dragon helpers. Loved it.
