I have a few videos that were sent to me that were filmed using a Cell Phone and I need to rotate then 90 degrees. Is there an easy way to do this? Or does anyone know of an easy to use (for dummies) free video editor software I could download? It would have to be compatible with Windows 7 64bit.

Thanks wave

Never mind...I found a free, no brainer, one. Took me about 2 minutes to learn and 2 minutes to rotate a video and save it. And it works in Windows 7 64 bit. Can't get any easier than that and its free. Take a look... Free Video Flip and Rotate

You can use the free Windows Movie Maker application to flip videos. That's what I've used.

Drag the movie file into the Movie Maker window. Click the flip icon on the tool bar. Save movie as a MP4 in the format size you want. I just use "For Computer."

If you don't already have the program, you can download it here:

Thanks Lanlynk

I tried that the other day. Didn't want all the other stuff I wasn't going to use because you have to download the whole Essential package. The installation did give the option to install individual programs from the Essential package so I chose just the Movie Maker. What it loaded was Photo Gallery and Movie Maker. Didn't even know where it was on my computer until today as its listed under Photo Gallery and I was looking for Movie Maker. Not Microsoft or Windows Photo Gallery just plain Photo Galler and not using a normal Microsoft icon either. After I did find it you have to sign up and sign in to use it. Way too much trouble just to flip a video. I didn't chose to sign up and when I went to uninstall the program and can't figure out how. Any suggestions? It doesn't seem to be listed in the Remove Program list. I have Win 7. Geeesh, what a pain in the rump roast.

Sounds like you went through quite the ordeal! I was installing Live Mail at the time, so signing up was something I was already doing. I just added Movie Maker as another option to install.

You can uninstall any of the components of Windows Essentials by finding Windows Live Essentials in the Remove Programs list. From there, you should get an option to "Remove one or more Windows Essential programs." Then you get a list of what components you have installed. Gallery and Movie Maker should be there.

Just to add another note regarding WMM, there is an independent download of Windows Movie Maker version 2.6, the download states for Vista but it worked well on my Win7 32 bit Laptop and is now working very well on my Win 8 64 bit Laptop.
You can download it for free from this MS site:

PS: I also find this one a lot easier to work with compared to others I have tested and is just perfect for simple tasks.

Ah, there it is! I thought the link I gave was for the individual download, but it was for the whole Windows Essentials. Thanks for the follow-up!
