Hi. Any of you Boomers familiar with Credit Care? I've read some posts on the web that do concern me.
My husband will be having cataract surgery and I will be needing to replace a 40 yr old crown and am considering applying. I thought this might be a good option rather than pulling money from the bank since it's supposed to be 0% interest for 24 months.

Do you mean Care credit?

You can read some opinions Here and here and here and here.

I am sure there are more but these are just the top ones I found.

I didn't find anything good out there about them either.

Yep Ana that sounds right. I had already read the first link you sent and that's what made me nervous. I have no intention of allowing someone to screw up my credit, if it gets screwed up, I'd prefer to do it myself. Guess I'll just have to fork over the cash or put it on credit card with 8% interest.
Thanks for your input girls.

I just read some of those complaints. Oh my! Sounds like this is an 'off-shore' company that preys on people who have no where else to turn. Horrible stuff going on. Lots of companies (big ones) have representatives in other countries with very heavy accents. Hard to understand and sometimes really bad phone connections.

Sounds like that 'loan shark' I used one year when I was young and poor and couldn't pay my income tax. I think I borrowed a whole 500 bucks at some horrible rate of interest, but it was better than I would have had if I didn't pay the taxes.

I walked into the office, signed some paperwork, was told NOT to bother reading it all (really), but I did anyway and discovered that by signing the paper I was giving away my 'homestead' rights to my house. Luckily I didn't own an house so it was a mute point, but imagine all the people who didn't read that fine print?

As I left, some really sad looking woman with 4 little kids walked in and handed over her WELFARE check to them! Wonder if this GE care thing is a subsidiary of my loan shark. Geeeez.

Thanks for those links Ana.

WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.

With all the trouble people have had I'm surprised some regulatory agency hasn't stepped in and begun an investigation. I read one post at, I think the third link, where a person hadn't charged anything on the credit card but was being billed all the same.

Out of all the posts I read from the first three links, there were no more than two who chided people for misusing their credit cards, saying they'd never had any problems with their credit cards. Sorry, but when as many people as are on the first three links report problems of this kind, something is really wrong.
