ProtectDisc Driver Version 11 SoftwareGmBH appeared in Programs of my Control Panel. It has been there for several months now and I have been afraid to remove it. I guess it has not hurt anything by being installed, but I do not know how it got there and I do not like programs just appearing without my knowledge. Do I need it, should I leave it or can it be safely removed?

Look at this site, Bleeping Computer to see an explanation for this program. From what I read the program is required for some software uses as it guards against illegal copies of software.

Homer6 and Inland AZ, Thank you for responding. Maybe the program was on a game disc. I will leave it alone.
