Good morning to all my fellow Boomers Joe: my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family on this sad day. All the Diner members are holding your hand to give you strength. Big bear hugs Ana: thanks for opening the Diner again. I envie you not sweating in this heat... Hi Haroula and Cailyn For me summer definitely arrived when the cikadas are chirping the whole day, like they do here in Italy since exactly July 1st. Have a wondrous day everybody. Evelyne

Have a good walk with the dogs, and hope the errands and cleaning go well, Ana. Have a nice day, too, Haroula. Have a great Thursday, Cailyn. Hope you're staying cool, Gimli. Joe, sending best thoughts and condolences to you and your family. I'm off today. Going to meet my friend, and we're going to spend the later morning/early afternoon together. Which means I have to practice singing before I leave, so I'm off now. Hope everyone here has a terrific Thursday.

Good morning gang! Joe, keeping you and family in our daily prayers We're having a plumbing moment here at the household as currently half of our sewage system is backed up...kitchen and one bathroom sink. And we are constraining bathroom operations so that we don't have that coming back into the house Just gotta keep smiling in times like these Take care everyone and have a great Thump Day!

Thumping good Thursday ya'll
We are in a waiting phase at the moment. Our plumber can't get here until after lunch. I had planned to bake bread this morning but no cooking will happen in this house till we have water.
Keoki had a good night. Poor fellow does not understand why he isn't all to stand up. We are hanging in the kitchen as that is closest to the easiest door to take Keoki outside. However there is no computer.
Thinking about you and your family Joe

Good morning everyone! My computer is very unhappy today and I am having a hard time posting. I thought it was my internet but it's my graphics card which unfortunately is integrated. I hope it corrects itself. Lotus, hugs to you and prayers and positive thoughts for your mom. soot and L4L, I sure hope the plumber can do an easy fix. It doesn't sound good. Evelyne, good to see you here again. I do sweat but I have to really be doing something very intense. Insanity class I leave drenched. I have to shut my computer down and see if it helps. It's overheating. I will run the dogs before it gets too hot. It's already 90 degrees. See ya in a bit!

Happy Thursday to everyone. I'm sweating and am sitting between a floor fan and a ceiling fan. It's not hot, it's just darned humid! Hate this, AND they are predicting MORE humidity as the day and weekend goes on. Ugh!
ComicCon is in full swing here. Such fun. People all over in weird 'superhero' costumes. It's the main news on every station. Thank goodness it's something fun for once.
My Yard Kid, who is less and less reliable (the one I've had since he was 17 and he is now 21,where do the years go?), is supposed to come today. He's skipping out on everyone with lots of excuses, most of which I know are lies. Just wish he would either stop making up reasons why he didn't show, OR tell the truth for once.
His latest reason for not appearing for the last 6 weeks is he got a job at IKEA. Neat. He even had a badge around his neck with his picture. Looked real enough, but his 'story' about his work and hours and all that didn't jibe. So then I remembered he had a friend who worked there and I'm pretty sure that somehow this friend faked a badge for my yard kiddo. Gotta be. Nothing fits in the story about constantly changing days off, not really working for IKEA but for some other place next door, then QUITTING that job 2 days ago, showing up at my door to tell me he would do my yard today, BUT also telling me that he was going for training at IKEA before he comes here. If he's working for IKEA, for the past month and a half, why is he now saying he's going for training? Just not matching up with normal thinking.
Hopefully he really will show up today. This is the 3rd week in a row I have sat around waiting for the day he promised to come. I'm thinking that he's avoiding me since I loaned him 10 bucks for bus/trolley fare and he knows he will be working for only a tiny bit more money when he comes since he has to either pay me back OR work off the loan. No more loans, no more 'loaning' gas, trimmer string, equipment, etc. He never 'repays' anything. Cold hard cash loan though (my first since he looked sooooo pitiful) will be my last of any loans.
Hoping beyond all hope he really has that IKEA job and sticks to the routine. Not optimistic though given past behavior. His life is one big downhill slide despite all of us around here trying to help him 'grow up' and be responsible. Not working. We are all sad.
Off to find more fans.
WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.

Still waiting for water Plumber assures me he will get here. Funny how I can't seem to do anything else even things I wouldn't need water for. Sorta, I think I'd stop waiting for your young guy....Sounds like he is on a bad path.

Nan, holy moly, that is a heat wave for you guys. Do you have AC? Turns out hubby knew about the washer...he turned the water off to it last night. Groceries are put away and dinner is dined, dogs are fed, and I'm going to lie down. Waiting around all day doing nothing is exhausting! Sweet dreams all Oh dear, the laundry room floor is flooded again
