Use the clues below, listed alphabetically, to come up with a word ladder. Once all of the clues are solved correctly and placed in the right order, each subsequent word will change by one letter without anagramming.
4 Letters:
-1. adjective for those who have passed, body of water, loathe, similar
2. atrocity, bitter, difficult, ilk, stag, type of shoe or ware
-3. Australian outback, break, complimentary, event with emphasis on a particular activity, family or Christmas follower, guitar part, outdo, units of measure
-4. camouflage, hardens, location, pursue, understands, watches the baby, word with dish or flip
-5. available, cargo area, desert, fodder, listen, went on the lam, worked the garden
5 Letters:
-6. beam, bend, goods, grimace, hoard, misrepresentation, part of a window sash, scare or car part, shawl, sing, type of molding or dental fitting, wading bird, wheel wedge
Did you ever stop to think and then forget to start again?

Remi, you're looking for the word that would come before the word "sort" in your answer. Do no harm Jema I like the frown to a smile method

Finishing this, so you can go on your holiday with a clear slate. Modify curly's list for #2 by removing "harm" from the end and adding "soft" to the beginning, so it reads: soft, sort, tort, tart, hart, hard, thereby changing soft to hard.
Wouldn't that jar your mustard!
