Posted this a few years back - if you recognise some of the answers, have a go at the new ones. Taglines or plot-lines from movies that never quite got made (but which bear a strange resemblance to some that did) e.g. "Backing singers voice never-ending stream of complaints" – A Chorus Whine -1. “Well Mr Simpson, I think we can approve your overdraft” -2. “Every since I tried the new ointment, my creaking joints have been so much better” Think Anthony Hopkins-3. A new variation of the drop-shot is perfected in Rome -4. A new means of creating heat is discovered by rubbing two blockbusters together -5. The landlord of a mediaeval tavern is told to clean up an unhygienic drinking vessel Think Western musical -6. A packed meal goes on sale, meant to be eaten in a French Cathedral -7. An alien force is routed by a previously-defeated tennis official -8. "I've tried to change the colour of my clothes by soaking them in this coloured liquid, but it's very difficult" -9. Neckwear is found covered in tea-stains Think Leonardo di Caprio -10. An oil-container is found discarded in the middle of a wood -11. Mystery fire at boathouse destroys all items of propulsion -12. Dorothy is eaten by the creature that terrorized Amity Island Think Inspector Closseau, and then the Revd. Spooner
To waste one second of one's life is a betrayal of one's self. I wonder what's on television...?

I agree, Jema - Sondi's was much better than mine! Great answers, everyone!

Both good, but ignoring the boathouse clue. What do boats (especially small ones) use for propulsion? Clues for the others later tonight...
