As expected, most of the comments on the Big Fish FB page express anger with BFG for "taking away" the CC forum and suggest that BFG doesn't care about their loyal customers. This makes me sad. BFG is one of the best online businesses I've dealt with. Any time I've had a complaint about a game, it was resolved to my full satisfaction. And that's all I expect - good products, fair prices, and good customer service. I hope some of these folks take the advice that was given to sign on with GameBoomers. Might help them to lighten up on BFG a bit. smile

Or, alternatively, let them first visit one of the many truly BAD sites there are out there before coming to a fantastic one like Gameboomers and then they might come to realise just how good BigFish is snicker

Is anyone else having a problem getting on the BigFish web site? All of a sudden I am getting the "we are down for maintenance" slide with Felix in a hardhat again. It was fine earlier today because I downloaded the new Awakening game. Curious.

I am getting that message too, Jeanne. There may have been some more maintenance they needed to do. Just keep checking back every so often. wave

welcome to GameBoomers, Yolanded.

We have one forum on GameBoomers that is roughly the equivalent of Chit Chat, and that forum is Mixed Bag. Folks can chat in Mixed Bag about non-game-related topics. wave

Bernie! Haha-nope still not a fan of new 'app'. would like to see a stripped down version-I get quite a few games so mainly I look at Today's game-check the Forum on it to see if any tech issues - read reviews and that's about it - sometimes a walkthrough. Don't want to see info about other games in the app(most not interested in to begin with)-Just would like to pick my game and download it. My laptop just doesn't need more stuff using up resources it or I don't need. I do understand that others with different devices or whatever may really like the new app and that's fine-just sometimes 'less is more'.
HOWEVER-I Do like Big Fish. Like their games and when had an issue with a game not running (think in over 4yrs there've been 2, maybe 3 only) they were good to give credit. Just have an issue with the new App (also didn't like the previous GM for same reasons). I have heard from several others that also feel the same way-maybe they'll come out with another version without all the extra stuff that people can get instead of only this current one.

Hi Gamenut - agreed! BFG is second to none when it comes to customer service etc. I must say I haven't really taken a lot of notice of the Game Manager. I suppose so long as it does its job downloading that is what matters! thumbsup wave

They posted them on Facebook, but I am hopeful that the updates will be posted elsewhere also for those who do not use Facebook.

This week the two CEs are supposed to be Twilight Phenomena: Strange Menagerie from ERS and Fearful Tales: Hansel and Gretel from Eipix, barring last-minute changes. wave

That all very interesting. It's probably good BFG closed their CCC forum since it's probable there will be many not happy with the changes. But businesses have to make decisions that keep them viable.

Thanks, BrownEyedTigre smile

Hopefully, despite all the restructuring etc, BigFish won't move away from the "Games for PC" market.

The recent layoffs and forum have me wondering how Big Fish is doing. You haven't been able to order a CD copy of purchased games for a while now, so I'm wondering if anyone has figured out a way to maintain backups of their games another way. I've purchased hundreds in the games in the last few years, and I know there are others who purchase a lot more than me. I would be more than a little ticked off if I were to lose access to those games for whatever reason. My computer certainly doesn't have to the capacity for me to store all the games on my hard drive.

There is no reason to be worried about BigFish. They are a very proactive company as opposed to reactive which will ensure their continued success.

Most companies end up going under because they wait until they are doing poorly before adjusting how they do business and then it's generally too late. BigFish continually accesses what works and what doesn't before it can sink them.

I would not worry about the games you purchased.
