Hi I am playing Dracula Resurrection and have indeed played it before successfully. I have however arrived at a problem i hope you can help me with? I am at the part of the game where I have to light a candle and open a drawer in a barrel, down in the basement of the inn, so I can gain entrance to the mine. I cannot find the candle! I have picked up all I need and have the lighter and the key to the drawer. I think I see a candle on the far wall, but the game will not let me click the lighter on it or advance towards the barrel. I cannot believe I have played this before and am now stuck.

Lozza,

As I recall, the candle is in a small, half moon window on the stairs before you get all the way down into the basement.
I hope I'm remembering right!

Gil.

Thanks for that, but it is as I feared. I have found the candle if it is the one on the far window which is half moon shaped. There is no indication to show I have the right place and if I try to use the lighter nothing happens. I have read and re read my walkthrough but I don't think I have missed anything?

Have you spoken to the innkeeper about the cellar and what's down there? You'll need to have read her husband's journal, I think, before she'll discuss it. (Going from memory here!)

After that, the candle is accessible before you even descend the steps to the cellar. The little window is close to the ground from the upper level, so perhaps at first easily missed.

okay I have now found the candle. I was trying to light it from the bottom of the steps firstly then I spotted the candle at floor level still no joy. Then after whizzing about I noticed the indicator and managed to light the candle! Yippee! You will not be pleased to know I am now stuck again! This time in the library. I found the oval panel and inserted the gem which should have produced a white light onto the desk on the opposite side of the room. I had to go to the desk and click on the "look" cursor. Not there. what have I missed this time please? The gem has gone from my inventory.

Read Rushes' post here.

See if that helps.

Gosh thanks for that my walkthrough does not tell you to back to the light, and I must admit I'd forgotten the light that would not open. All done and guess what I am stuck again! I have to collect a shield and gauntlet. I have paraded the room but cannot get close enough to look for said. Along the wall I get close but no indication that there is something of interest. I can't believe I played this before.

The shield will only become active if you've completed everything else necessary up to that point. smile Have you explored Dracula's bedroom entirely and taken everything you can? Did you speak completely to Dorko? The ball from the pedestal is important here, and Dorko can tell you about it (if she hasn't already).

Okay will double check, thanks mate, will let you know if I find it or if I am still promenading around the main hall. I did speak to Dorko, about all the things I picked up from the desk I believe but who knows I will double check as I say.

Be sure you have the ball in your inventory and that you've covered that topic with Dorko. Perhaps double check that you picked up everything from the desk, also. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hey! I managed to do the last Sanctuary without bothering you all! Do I get a prize? ha ha. Moved on to the green moon as played The Path of the Dragon recently. Any more in the same vein please?

Hi Lozza, if you would like suggestions for more games, try posting in the Adventure Game Discussions forums, where other members might be able to suggest some titles for you.

Congrats on finishing The Last Sanctuary. wave
