Is anyone playing this game? I need help.
I have collected 5 orbs and the jar of blood, the poison gland and the bone with mucus on it. I then go to the Chancel where I am supposed to be ambushed by the monsters but nothing happens. There must be something more I need. Can anyone help?

It's been a couple of years since I played it, so I don't remember. Maybe try one of the walkthroughs out there... there are several videos on youtube and this is a written walkthrough.

Amnesia Walkthrough

I tried to play it again last winter and got too scared to continue! I think it was scarier the 2nd time...

Smokey, I don't play spooky games, but I think that one of the videos on youtube would be your best bet as you might see something that you realize you didn't do. luck

Smokey, it may be some little thing, or possibly a bug. Do you have a save you can drop back to?

Thanks for the suggestions. There was one item I had failed to pick up. I have now completed the game.

Agreed. So far it even out-creeps Call Of Cthulhu (though not by much).

Hah! You haven't gotten to the misty place with lots of huge boulders or something where you can't QUITE see anything, but you can hear them! Didn't think I was every going to get out of there.

I played for about half an hour last night and got stuck, but I really really REALLY didn't want to do much exploring because there was this monster noise coming from somewhere.

I'm not sure where I am. I'm right at the start of the game, in a large room with cells leading off it, past the library. There's been some taunting, and a very nasty incident with a large screw...

Oh, my... you have so much more to look forward to - or dread - yet! Make sure you search everything for lamp oil! You're going to need it.

Haven't found any yet.

Right now I'm deep into some pretty nasty scary stuff in Half Life 2. I guess it's my month for scary games.

Getting tuned up for Halloween! We are gearing up for the Halloween Fall Tournament over at Mystery Manor if you want to be scared in a much different way! LadyK posted something in the Adventure Games forum here at GB.

I finished Dark Descent a while ago and am now playing Amnesia a machine for Pigs. A Machine for Pigs is very similar to Dark Descent but a little easier. If you like Dark Descent you will like A Machine for Pigs.

I started this game months ago, but got sidetracked. I've just started it up again, and my original game is gone, all the saves, and the only option I have is to start a new game. Is this a normal feature of the game? Did I somehow get timed out?

Edit: I should have said that I never uninstalled the game or deleted any files, just didn't play for a while.

Hagatha, I have no idea, but must say it seems very strange. Are you playing through steam? Do you want me to move this to glitches?

I'm trying to remember, but I think when I reinstalled the game on a new hard drive, my old saves were still all there. But I was playing through Steam, so maybe that had something to do with it. I know I went back to it after several months and my saves were there too.

Hm. I guess there's only the one save, though, because now that I'm playing the only way I can save the game is by "Save and Exit," or is there another way?

I played for a while with the sound way down and actually blundered right INTO one of the monsters...which promptly disappeared. Is that normal?

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

No, that's the only way it saves... assuming my rememberer is working correctly.

Yikes! I've accidentally blundered into the monsters when I turned around and was immediately killed!

Okay.

Well, I guess I must have blundered into that monster just as it was disappearing.

Anyway, this game is seriously scared and eek but at the same time evil thumbsup.
