My PC crashed, and I had to reload the operating system and all programs.

I have reloaded Myst III Exile and for some reason my backup program did not save copies of the Saved Games file. I would appreciate a copy of a saved game to take me to the point I was at when it crashed.

I had completed Tomahna, J'nanin, Voltaic and was in Edanna just before The Purple Pod Puzzle.

OK, thanks to help from MaG with some game saves I am moving along in the game again.

Now I am at the Purple Pod Puzzle in EDANNA and am inside the seed pod. When I pull down on the center stalk, the cloud of purple spores emits, but the mother bird does not come. What should I do?

Did you release momma from the plant?

wicknext,

Did this plant make a "pretty loud bellow"?
Please check this walkthrough.

Did the insects polinate your seed pods? If you look up, the insects should be buzzing around the two stamen filaments. If they're not there, you have to lure them away from the lotus in the other section.

I did release the insects in the prior section, but I do not see them buzzing around here.

Have you found out how to lure the insects already?

I'm not sure if this is the relevant part that you need to do to get the insects:
Click to reveal..
Return along the path continuing past the place where you entered. You will eventually find in the path another of those plants with the long stems and palm leaves. This one has the leaves closed; click on the orange bump at the base and they open, shading the open blue plant with the insect cloud. You can hear it closing. Go back along the path and you will see that it has indeed closed, but the insect are still there. Keep going until stopped by a hollow blue root. This must be the runner from which these blue plants grow. You can go over to the big blue plant to examine the brown ones; click on the largest of these and it emits a cloud of spores that drive the insects away. (If the plant is not closed the insects will not leave.)

Yes, you need to use the
Click to reveal..
noxious puffer plant
to send them away.

I am in Amateria. When I get to the little platform overlooking the green ponds at the beginning of this age, I am unable to pull the long vertical handle on the left. It just clicks and does nothing. What have I missed?

Is this the one with the short handle also or the one that raises the platform?
Maybe this is the one that opens the chute.

As I understand it, there are a series of 5 levers to do correctly, so that an iceball goes through those 5 puzzles and back to the central building. Maybe the puzzle before this one is not set so the iceball is not able to get to this one?

Apparently it is the one which raises the platform.

The way I understand this age:
- You solve 3 puzzles concerning that iceball.
- You then get a pattern of hexagonal buttons.
- You enter those pattern in the right control panels.
- After doing the above puzzles - you can then get to that building at center of island, sit down on chair and watch a cutscene. Be sure to sit down. lol
- Then look at ceiling to start the iceball going.
- Realize that the balls can't reach a platform.
- Realize that a piece of track is missing. Solve that problem and then go there.

Hopefully - you did the puzzles and patterns correctly and watched the cutscene.
Maybe someone that played this game can help us also.

Gee I don't remember Exile puzzles being so complicated! Guess it's time to pull out the old game and play again.
