Been a looooong time since I did one of these...

Below are a number of clues, in no particular order (as ever evil ). String the answers to roughly half the clues them together in the right order, and you’ll find the answers to the rest of the clues reading backwards. Being all heart, I’ve given you the length of the string that you’re looking for.

An example (8 letters) :

Break out
Money owing
Resting place
Unsullied

ERUPTBED (erupt + bed, debt + pure backwards)

1. (19 letters)
Abscond (right to left)
Echo (left to right)
Hollow cylindrical body (left to right)
Long cylindrical piece of wood (left to right)
Musical note (right to left)
Oppose by contrary proof (right to left)
Weight of an object's container (right to left)

-2. (29 letters)
Alter the structure or style of something
Animate existence
Deadly poison
Foot-operated lever
Person whose work exhibits exceptional skill
Place oneself in position for an artist
Radioactive gas
Render possible
Signify acceptance
Skilled
Structure in which rock layers slope away in all directions from a central point
Top-up when empty

-3. (35 letters)
Bake in a kiln
Biting humour
Branch of linguistics that deals with syntax and morphology
Cartoon matriarch
Connected otherwise incompatible things together
Hunter
Part of a many stringed instruments
Prefix, multiplied by ten
Pulchritudinous meter-maid
Sleeping quarters
Tungsten
Type-face extremity
Volume per unit time

To waste one second of one's life is a betrayal of one's self.
I wonder what's on television...?

The best math you can learn is how to calculate the future cost of current decisions.
