Many words have more than one meaning. 'Set' can mean a division of a tennis game, to lay a dining table, or to solidify. In this quiz, you need to find one word which can replace three words or phrases in each question.

-1.Sebastian is caught in a traffic snarl so he may be late for the jazz group's improvisation session tonight. After the music, sandwiches made with a fruit conserve will be served with mead. 3 letters

-2.Would you object if I left these items for you to take care of? My conscience would be very disturbed if anything happened to them. 4

-3.Roger, there is no need to repeatedly bash the door which only weighs sixteen ounces. Your unit of former Malawian currency will buy your entry into this house. 5

-4.If you hit the cow with the stone projected from the elastic strap fashioned into a crude weapon, we will have to lift the injured cow with a belt under its belly. If you don't hit the cow, I will make you a sweet cocktail made with gin.
5

-5.Dennis ate the steak which he found easy to chew. Alas, his abdomen developed a spot that was very sensitive to touch. He had to leave the cruise ship on a boat designed to carry passengers to shore to receive medical attention. 6

6.Charles will pursue that fox through the hunting ground. If he wins the pursuit, he receives a silver mug which he plans to engrave with his initials. 5

-7.Sylvia shall beguile the audience when she makes her first appearance on the stage through the doorway. 8

-8.Sadie, we must remove the dirt from this office. The man who works here is free of corruption and his office must be the same. He lives a pure, not obscene life. 5

9.Oh dear, Nicholas. It's so expensive to maintain the strongest, most fortified part of a castle. We must refrain from looking so glum when tourists are about as it gives a bad impression. 4

-10.I need a device to ignite this wick. Hot air is then less heavy than cold air and the hot air balloon will then ascend. Where is the person who touches the wick off? 7

wink

As I've grown older, I've found that my memory is not as good as I used to think it was.
