Anyone playing this? Or know anything about it? Apparently it has been released in September.
Maybe it should be in another discussion like adventure.

Mcc, I haven't played this one...horror is not my thing...but there are some reviews Here. Not as good as opinions from Boomies, but it might help. wave

Yes, reviews are very mixed.

I would like some input from fellow boomers.

I'm playing it right now. I must say that I'm somewhat disappointed so far. I'm fairly far into it and there has only been one scene where I had to hide.

Nice creepy atmosphere like Dark Descent, but no fear of opening doors or something sneaking up behind you. There is almost no interaction with object and no inventory. The plot is still somewhat nebulous too...

I got it on sale at GOG and at this point I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it. Not bad, but definitely not great. Maybe things will pick up and change the further I get into it.

Thanks Draclvr!

I love really good horror games but they are disappointing very often.

Thanks Draclvr; I played & loved the first one, but I think I'll wait for the next sale to get this one. Judy

Well, I finished the game tonight. The second half was much better and provided the plot twists and scares I was expecting.

I didn't realize there was another Amnesia, I never finished the first one. Seems like it was too dark for me to play and not sure if I could ever get it light enough, so I just kept going around in circles. lol

Terri, it's meant to be dark, both in the game and in the subject! And VERY scary. Although Machine isn't nearly as scary as Descent, it definitely got that way in the last half of the game. Just not nearly to the point where I couldn't even force myself to play it the way Descent did!

I know it's supposed to be dark but it was so difficult for me to maneuver, I quit. It's still on my pc but don't know if I'll ever finish it. I am seriously thinking I was just going in circles. Also was the color off on my pc, the blood trail looked like Pepto Bismol.
Thanks Drac!

Nope, color was definitely Pepto Bismol! You can go in to the options and turn up the gamma to brighten things up.

Drac. Have you played Anna EE? It was pretty scary not to mention bizarre.

No, I haven't. Can't say I've even heard about it. What is the EE for?

Hi Drac. It's for Extended Edition. I played the original one and didn't care for it at all, but think the EE is an improved version.

Drac. I decided to download the game on my newer pc knowing I had better luck at being able to see something on the screen. Sure enough I can, but the game is giving me a headache and I got sick to my stomach the first time I played. Seems like I did better in the dark, so probably can't continue with the game.
I'm thinking Anna might not have the same fear factor as Amnesia the dark descent, so not sure if you're going to like it. wave

Thanks L4L. I decided to see if I could take it slow and not do any fast turns. So for it's better but I can only play a limited time. Presently I'm in an area and I don't see anyway out! Oh wait a minute, that's right, I can't see too much anyway, it's very dark. lol Oops. out of light, oh gee! woozy

Definitely turn up the gamma in this game if you need to! It's in the options in the main menu. But then you will have to SEE what's coming after you!

I don't know if this is where to put this but I've been known to mispost before. lol

Ok. Couldn't let the game (Amnesia The Dark Descent) beat me, finished it tonight This is not a game I plan on playing again, once was enough.
I found it to be more sickening than scary. Don't get me wrong, it was somewhat scary but the 360` made me nauseous, and that was more scary for me.
I am so glad to be done with it! bravo

Not really 360 degree movement.
More like FPS movement (forward-and-back as well as side-to-side/up-and-down).
I don't know how you managed to finish it if it gives you nausea.
Congratulations on your accomplishment.
Just a few seconds of it is too much for my stomach.
