My Mom was brought to the hospital during last night. I got a call from the nurse at 4:30 with the news that she had a very hard time breathing. She suffers from Congestive Heart Failure. I know how powerful your prayers are. I will be going down to see her. She is 94 but I'm not ready to lose her. Thank you my Boomer family.

Prayers for you and your Mom, MIdge. My Mom had the same thing and I know what you are going through. If you are with her, a nice slow back rub (with her either lying on her side or partially sitting up) will help with the stress of her breathing. It's very calming for both and can work wonders even when the Oxygen isn't working so well. Healing and comforting thoughts for you both.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and with your Mom, Midgie.

I wanted to tell you about my visit to my Mom today. First of all she didn't know I was coming today. She saw me walking towards her and couldn't believe it was me. After crying (happy tears) for about 5 minutes she calmed down and we had a wonderful time together. I asked her if she wanted a back rub which she really wanted one but she was tied to so many things I couldn't find a way to make that happen. She had a tube in her nose with oxygen, a port in each hand, places that the nurses could attach lines in both hands, you get the idea. She was so fragile I didn't want to hurt her. They were giving her a blood thinner. She had a heart attack which was connected to her congestive heart failure. Anyway I loved being with her. I stayed about an hour, then I didn't want to tire her out so I left her after many hugs. The trip home should have taken just over 2 hours but because of the time I left the trip took me 4 hours to get home....bumper to bumper traffic much of the way. Well I was very sore and tired when I got home. I really didn't want to leave her but I knew I'd have a difficult drive home. Just relaxing now, thinking about the day.
