I can't get the rope out of the window above the cage to trap the second guard in the Freak show tent. I have used the crank to move the hook but it doesn't seem to be visible above the cage and I used the rope but it just seems to be hanging down in front of the cage and there is nowhere to click on it to get it out of the window.
Please can someone help or is it a bug in the game.

Mave

Hi Mave,

If the rope is dangling down in front of the cage, you should be able to see a large ring on top of the cage itself, at the front. If you click on that ring, the rope should attach itself there. Holmes will then say that the trap is in place.

Let us know if you still have problems!

Hi Rushes,

I have attached the rope and Holmes has said "There the rope is in place" but it is still dangling down in front of the cage and wherever I click there is only a magnifying glass. The guide says to click on the end of the rope but I can't find a hand which lets me click on it.

Mave.

Did you do everything else necessary in the area first -- did you take (and read) Hans' diary, and also read the note from the director?

Are you close enough to a previous save that you can go back and replay this part, just in case it is a glitch?

I still have my game installed. If the above doesn't help, you're very welcome to send me your last dated save file for the game, and I'll load it and see what the problem might be.

Thanks for sending me your save file, Mave. I took a look at it for you.

You haven't yet attached the rope to the hook that's hanging from the ceiling directly above the Wolfman's cage. Look up high -- you can't miss it. If it's still difficult to see, perhaps change to first person view instead of third. (The R key on your keyboard switches viewpoints.) Have the rope in your inventory ready, and click it on the hook. Holmes will then say that the trap is set.

luck

Thank you so much. I couldn't see the hook at the top so I thought it wasn't there. It's ok now but I'll probably be back.

Mave.
