I think when I left my pc (Cyberpower OS win8) it was the desktop. I came back to a solid blue screen with the white cursor. Any idea what's going on? Can't do anything with it, it's like it frozen. frown No doubt I can manually shut it down but before I do is there another way to go?

If it's frozen, then no. Hopefully when you reboot, all will be well.

If you tap your power button the PC may shut down normally and avoid the hard shutdown.

Did you ever stop to think and then forget to start again?

It could be the laptop went to sleep.

This is a tower and when Windows 8 goes to sleep, it doesn't have a blue screen. Who knows what happened!

This is the best solution if it happens again.

If the blue screen has any message on it, write it down because it may give a clue what's wrong.

I have it set not to sleep. Jenny it had no writing, it was solid blue. Hopefully it won't do it again and maybe it was just a fluke. duh
