A professor of chemistry wanted to teach his 5th grade class a lesson about the evils of liquor, so he produced an experiment that involved a glass of water, a glass of whiskey, and two worms.
"Now, class, closely observe the worms," said the professor while putting a worm into the water.

The worm in the water writhed about, happy as a worm in water could be. He then put the second worm into the whiskey. It curled up and writhed about painfully, then quickly sank to the bottom, dead as a doornail.

"Now, what lesson can we learn from this experiment?" the professor asked.

Johnny, who naturally sits in back, raised his hand and wisely, responded confidently, "Drink whiskey and you won't get worms."

A kindergarten class had a homework assignment to find out about something exciting and relate it to the class the next day. When the time came to present what they'd found, the first little boy walked up to the front of the class made a small white dot on the blackboard and sat back down. Puzzled, the teacher asked him just what it was.
"It's a period,'' said the little boy.

"Well, I can see that,'' she said, ''but what is so exciting about a period?''

''I honestly don't know mam,'' said the little boy, ''but this morning my sister was missing one, Daddy had a heart attack, Mommy fainted, and the man next door shot himself."

A mother, accompanied by her small daughter, was in New York City. The mother was trying to hail a cab, when her daughter noticed several wildly dressed women who were loitering on a nearby street corner.

The mother finally hailed her cab and they both climbed in, at which point the young daughter asks her mother, "Mommy, what are all those ladies waiting for by that corner?"

The mother replies, "Those ladies are waiting for their husbands to come by and pick them up on the way home from work."

The cabby, upon hearing this exchange, turns to the mother and says, "Ah, C'mon lady! Tell your daughter the truth! For crying out loud...They're hookers!"

A brief period of silence follows, and the daughter then asks, "Mommy, do the hooker ladies have any children?"

The mother replies, "Of course, Dear. Where do you think cabbies come from?"

I'm a little breathy today, so I'm gonna concentrate on sitting still and drinking lots and lots of coffee whilst trying to get in touch with the pharmacy to see if I have any inhaler refills. Silly me....

Guess I'm gonna have to break down and go to the doc. Should be fun as I've been switched yet again and it takes forever to get the docs to get a grip on my issues.

So, it will be a good day to relax..

Good morning. Lousy rainy day out there. I worked this morning. I'm glad to be home for the rest of the day. Gonna do stuff I put off while visiting with my Mom. I hope you all have a good day. Ana you asked if I could bring my Mom closer to me. The answer is no because she's close to all her friends and church people and doctors, things like that. She's been moved out of critical care and is stable so I feel that she's getting better.

Good morning boomies! I'm off to the park with the dogs for a one miler. Thats all I have been doing this week until Merlin gets his braces. He can't go to the river because he is not allowed hills without them so we are hiking the woods.

L4L, I hope you feel better and that the doctor will do what needs to be done.
How do you feel about the laser treatments for Keoki? I was given an 8 week plan for rehab on Merlin and I'm trying to shave the costs back a bit. Not sure how well the laser treatments work and if its worth the cost. I am thinking of just doing the chiropractic treatment for his bad hips. Do you feel it's helped alot? If it's necessary of course I will adjust and pay for all the recommended treatments.

Ana, I think the K-laser treatments help Keoki tremendously. I was skeptical at first, but saw the improvement. I keep kidding my vet that I need to rename son Keoki and let him do them for son's back.

Haroula, glad you are better, and yes, that is most likely how you are getting sick.

To all of those with recurrent illnesses, stay away from kids. When I was teaching, I got everything the kids had. Now that I'm retired, nary a sniffle unless I actually get coughed or sneezed on while I'm out shopping. I avoid the little ones if I can. Got the German Measles from my Niece when I was 24! Ditto Bronchitis (which was the start of my asthma)when I was 27. I didn't even go near her. Was in the same room 15 feet away. Go figure. Their germs are much healthier than we oldies.

No I am not just getting up but I surely didn't want to when I did. It was only 11F out there with really cold winds for my Sassy walk.

Then ran my errands that I have been putting off for a week cause I didn't really want to go out as it hurt. Feeling better now and just in time for fish fry tonight.

Joe this is it!!! Tomorrow is the weekend off!! Hope work flies and goes well. Thanks for the ,laughs.
