I downloaded this great game from GOG, (first time) went through the whole game (thanks to the walkthroughs) almost to the very end, but now I'm stuck in the maze.
The walkthrough gets me part way along, but then POW, the wolf gets shot after several moves, I think the walkthrough is incorrect. So I tried it on my own, no luck.
Any help will be appreciated.

The walkthrough 1 is the one I previously mentioned and does not seem to work.

The other site provides a so called solution, but won't work either, the author states at the end "try as I may, once I had closed the 3 doors on the west side of the basement, I just couldn't trap Van Glower in the furnace room, so I used the directions provided by Richard Lawson in his walkthru."

I googled Richard Lawson but had no luck finding his walkthrough.

Guess I'm dead in the water.

I couldn't get it to work when I played the game many years ago either when I did that walkthrough. Then I found another walkthrough that worked and I have it printed out. If I can figure out how to scan it and send it to you, I will. I have a hard time using the scanner, so, let me see if I can do it. The link at the bottom of the walkthrough doesn't work anymore so I can't just send you the link. have you tried this walkthrough? http://www.neoseeker.com/resourcelink.html?rlid=30532&rid=28983

Here are instructions from another WT that I found online, which might help:

Click to reveal..
Turn right. Go forward 2. Turn left 2, and close the door. Turn right, go forward. Turn left 2, close the door. Turn right 2, forward 2. Turn left 2, close door. Turn right, go forward. Turn left, close the door. Turn right, forward once. Turn left, go forward once. Turn left, go forward once. Turn left 2, close door. Turn left, close door. Turn left, go forward 1, turn left 2, close door. Turn left, go forward 1. Turn right, go forward 1, close the door in front of you. Turn left, go forward 1, turn right, go forward one. Turn right, go forward 3. Turn right, go forward 2. Stop. Save your game here, because you cannot save in the next scene, and you really don't want to have to do that all again. Now read this closely...

Go forward 1 into the furnace room. After the little scene, click on Grace. Then click on the furnace door (Grace opens the door). Then click on Gabriel again (the gray wolf) to give him control back. As soon as you have control as Gabriel again, line up your cursor with the left edge of the coal bin (to the right of the furnace), and about midway up vertically. Wait for Von Glower to leap. When he starts the leap, he'll move in relative slow motion. The instant he crosses the point of your cursor, click on him! If you time it wrong, you miss and wind up getting shot by Leber...

Solution for End Game of GKII

SAVE on entering the basement !!!!!!

From the point where Gabriel becomes a wolf; right from that exact point
follow the instructions after the abbreviations:

Abbreviations:
L turn left
R turn right
A turn around
C close the door
F go forward

R,F,F,A,C,R,F,A,C,R,C,R,F,A,C,R,C,R,F,A,C,R,F,F,L,
F,L,F,R,C,R,C,R,F,A,C,R,F,L,F,F,L,F,A,C,L,F,R,F,R,
F,F,F,R,F,F,F.

You will find yourself in the furnace area. Click on Grace to gain control
of the situation then click on the furnace door to open it. Lastly, click on
Gabe the wolf. It might take a few tries...........more details
below..........

Go forward 1 into the furnace room. After the little scene, click on Grace.
Then click on the furnace door (Grace opens the door). Then click on Gabriel
again (the gray wolf) to give him control back. As soon as you have control
as Gabriel again, LINE UP YOUR CURSOR WITH THE LEFT EDGE OF THE COAL BIN (to
the right of the furnace), AND ABOUT MIDWAY UP VERTICALLY. Wait for Von
Glower to leap. When he starts the leap, he'll move in relative slow motion.
THE INSTANT HE CROSSES THE POINT OF YOUR CURSOR, CLICK ON HIM! If you time
it wrong, you miss and wind up getting shot by Leber...and von Glower
escapes. If you timed it exactly right, von Glower gets shoved into the
furnace, Grace slams the door, Gabe escapes, von Glower dies in the flames,
and the game goes to the endgame movie.

Hey, I'm not dead in the water, I'm full steam ahead!!!

Thanks to everybody who responded, this really was a difficult ending (for me anyway), and I couldn't have finished without you.

Really enjoyed this game, now it's on to Zork, another oldy I never got around to doing.
