Just think what games we might get written especially for us:-

The Big Grey Adventure
Alice through the Magnifying Glass
The Departure (sorry!)
Gallstone Chronicles
Blue Rinse
Broken Hip 1 (and 2)

Second thoughts, don't think we should tell the
developers how old we are!

There are days I really can't remember how old I am. Randy at JA+ has done a couple of these demographic surveys of adventure gamers at his site over the years. I know that he's been trying to forward this information on to designers and developers over the years, but I don't think he's had many takers. If anyone remembers more, feel free to jump in.

I may be mistaken, but I remember that the results did indeed show that adventure gamers were by in large older, better educated and made more money that your average gamer (and half were women).

As a 33-year old, may I just say that you people make feel very young. Thanks! laugh laugh laugh

Quite a fascinating response to a question which, when presented verbally, could very well elicit silent disdain or downright hostility. The community aspect of this place surely contributes to this also. I submit my 55 years as proof that a foolishly spent youth ages gracefully eventually.

50 and was thinking along the same lines as Nickie and several others. I can't remember seeing a post by a monitor on this site where someone either was admonished to behave themselves in a post or had their post deleted for improper use of language or treatment of another poster. Threads closed for wandering far a field of the intended posting limits don't count.

From what I've seen on other game forums this seems to be a somewhat rare situation and I wondered if our ages have a lot to do with the way we treat each other.

Wow! I am so amazed at how many people here are over 40! I am a 33 year old woman. <img border="0" alt="pacify" title="" src="graemlins/pacify.gif" /> When I first found Gameboomers, I figured most of the people would be much younger than me, and male. I was very surprised when I peeked at some profiles back then ('cos I'm nosy) and saw many people listing their occupation as "retired" and mentioning grandchildren, and also surprised that there seem to be an equal amount of both sexes here. Let's face it--the stereotype of a gamer IS a teenaged boy, and I was guilty of assuming that was the type of people who were here. I was just so glad to find that I was wrong, and that I am not alone in being the only adult female who plays computer games! I swear, people in "real life" look at me like I'm nuts when I talk about my gaming hobby! Thanks to my fellow adult gameboomers, I know I'm not crazy!

Hello I'm 45 (at least for the next few days.)

People like wine do improve with age ... and I think people are maturing later as well. In terms of how to behave as part of society rather than how soon can they do adult things.

Cheers, Peter.

I seem to be on the younger end. I turned 30 this year. It's interesting to see everybody's age. I usually think of anyone I know online to be around my age.

Shame on me!!!!!!!! frown I should visit the other forums more often......... Bad Marcie. I'm 58, but I keep forgetting wink . I have more energy and need less sleep than my 37 year old daughter!! Then I walk past a mirror and wonder "who is that lady? Lady? When did I stop being a girl and become a lady? Probably when that first stranger in line at the grocery store stopped asking me how many children I have and now asks how many grandchildren I have. (the first time that happened I was shocked.....LOL) So, I guess I can go back into my profile and add this information now LOL lol lol lol
