Without signing out myself, I keep coming back and finding that I'm signed out of the forum. Is it my computer or is something else going on? Also, There's an ad - from Delta airlines this time, on your homepage. It has nothing to do with Gameboomers. What's going on? My computer or your forum again?

I don't have any ads here at all... You might run scans with your CCleaner and Malwarebytes.

I just ran CCleaner. The ad there now is Star Wars. It's from that "adchoices" that follows you around all over the internet.

The ad on the homepage (right side above the 3 small banners) has been there since December. It was a test run - still deciding if I will keep it. It will show only ads on sites that you have visited or are related. So it will be different for each browser/user. As for the logging out - please be sure to clear your cookies (under MY Place) and your temporary folder.

No, I don't see any ads at all on the home page other than Big Fish, Shiny Loot and Adventure Shop. I don't use the home page that much as my Bookmark takes me straight to the forums. I do use Do Not Track Me, so maybe it's actually working.

Alternatively, installing AdBlock does away with all ads completely. I use it and would recommend it. It's a free program.

I especially hate ads targeted at me because of websites I've been to. Get Do Not Track Me from the developer Abine here. It is an add-on for your browser... I believe Firefox has it in their Extensions page. Chrome may too... Do Not Track Me

Hi. I also get signed out of Gameboomers but only on my Cyberpower PC. I've given up hope since it has been that way since I got that PC. I decided to also download Do Not Track Me. I'm not so sure about what I did on that. I put a bogus email address on it, the realized I should have used a good one. Oh well, will delete it and try again. After reading all of the posts on here I went into Google to do some checking and low and behold my Google said "My Search Dial", I am so tired of this. I pay to search the web and by the time you d/load all of the programs you need to keep your pc safe, you have little space to d/load what you want. I decided to go into my Chrome settings, it's a mess! Manage Search Engines: Yahoo, Avg Secure Search, Conduit, Bing, Delta Search, Avg Secure Search, Do Search, My Search Dial, Google, Yahoo, Bing, Ask, and AOL. To the side I have something about Omnibox. How do I get rid of all of this?

To the side I have something about Omnibox. How do I get rid of all of this? "Omnibox" is part of Chrome -- their special word for "Address Bar." https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95440?hl=enChrome allows you to tweak it in the settings. The list of search engines is just a default list provided by Chrome. It's not necessary to get rid of it, but if you wish to change it, there are instructions on the Chrome site https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95653?hl=en

Ok, but I don't think I'm supposed to have My Search Dial when I click on my Google icon. I never have had that before. Then it shows it's not encrypted, isn't that a problem? Haven't a clue what I did but I did get rid of MySearchDial toolbar!!!!!!!!! Got Google back.

I think I first need to get rid of this My Search Dial first. I can't find it anywhere on my PC. If I remove Google Chrome and re-install will I retain my favorites?

Terri, this My Search Dial is malware. I found a ton of hits when I Googled it. I forget... did you run deep scan with Malwarebytes?

Oh yes I ran it and everything else I could find. I knew it was malware shortly after I realized it was on my PC. I did a no-no and updated my Glary Utilities from, gee, now I can't remember. It sent me there I think, so I d/loaded it and I think that's where I got the malware? Wow, looks like I got a 2-fer. I'm headed to bed, tired and cold. I realized my link to Glary said "the system can not find the path specified" so I went looking for it, no link took me there, I did that all by myself. Perhaps I can figure a way to get rid of it tomorrow.......I'm tired of worrying with it tonight.

Not sure why you have this utility, but depending on where you downloaded it from, you probably got this 2-fer there. I recently read a tech blog about downloading software and how we all need to be extra vigilant for these free-loaders they put on our computers. Many of the places which we used to trust for downloads have become some of the worst culprits. Even CNET has gone to the dark side. After 3 terrible experiences with them, I no longer download anything from them. They were even mentioned in this article as one of the ones you really have to watch.
Google this malware for tips on how to remove it.

Hi Drac. I ran AdwCleaner and I think that got rid of it. I need to update the software on my Cyberpower but not too sure about the website, it's in a foreign language. Do you have any idea where to look for an update? Which reminds me. When I d/loaded the new version of Glary I noticed I also got something called Filepuma by Glary that shows I need to update some of my software and it has the update links. What is this about? I have had Glary Utilties on my pc for years and am now rethinking it, perhaps I should just uninstall it. Thanks, Terri

What website are you talking about that is in a foreign language? What software do you need to update?
Glary seems to be a legitimate program, but anything that installs something that I don't want raises red flags with me. Filepuma also seems to be legit, but I would be VERY leery of it. They both sound like completely unnecessary programs - not bad, just unnecessary. Any time something tells you to update software (what software, by the way?) and then provides links just raises more possibilities of bad stuff piggy backing again.
Maybe someone else here has some experience with these two programs.

I don't understand this myself. I did have to re-download my AdwCleaner but did so on Bleeping computer. I could not get it to go to the foreign site again, I think it might have been french or german, can't remember. I love AdwCleaner, don't know what I would do without it! As for glary, guess I need to remove it. I did go into the Glary updater and found a lot of interesting software, some I'd never heard of. I believe I had Glary Utilities before I got CCleaner, years ago. If I get the message for AdwCleaner again, either saying it's outdated or it's a missing link, I will try to get all the info and make note of it. Thanks.

Oldbroad,
This may be a dumb question, but when you sign in, do you remember to check the box that says "Keep me signed in"? (Or something like that.)

Do you clear your cookies before or after you check the box that says "Keep me signed in"? It is a cookie that keeps you signed in to Gameboomers.

I also have this problem - at times it makes the board almost unusable. It started about a week or so ago after having had almost 10 years with no problems. It's so bad with me that most times when I log in OK ("Welcome Urban Worrier"), then click on a link to one of the forums, I find I'm logged out immediately. Also, once logged-in, I can type a reply like this one, click on "submit" and get the message "not allowed to post, please log-in" (or similar). Have tried clearing cookies, both by "my place", Ccleaner and Internet Explorer / Tools, all to no avail. Nothing has changed on the PC (no MS fixes, no new software installed - it's sooo frustrating Rog

The IT didn't find anything wrong on the program end. He states that problems arise as seen on this thread with the usage of anti tracker and anonymizer softwares. They tend to be stingy with cookies - which this program relies on. I can just reiterate: - clear cookies - clear temporary internet files - add GameBoomers to your "trusted site".

Hmm - as far as I know I'm not using any anti tracker and anonymizer software - I don't even use Internet Explorer's Inprivate Browsing Feature. I'll crank down my cookie settings for a while to let anything in and see what happens. Also, gameboomers.com is in Ccleaner's "keep these cookies" list - I'll temporarily remove it and force a cookie purge to see if it makes any difference. Thanks for checking it out MaG.

Have you tried using another browser, Rog? I had the same issue with Internet Explorer. When I switched to Chrome, the problems with sign-in stopped. Perhaps try it as a last resort if nothing else works.

Here we go again. Now I keep getting signed out again too. I ran a full anti-virus scan today which cleans all my cookies so I figure that's why I had to sign in when I came on but, after reading one board I was signed out again.
2 more times already that I had to sign back in.
Maybe it is IE.
And Again! It is getting annoying now. Hopefully after shutting my computer down tonight and coming back in tomorrow it will be back to normal.

Try doing what Rog did and use a different browser such as Firefox or Chrome.

Try doing what Rog did and use a different browser such as Firefox or Chrome. I use firefox and still find myself logged out. I did add gameboomers to my browser's "leave this cookie alone" list and to the ccleaner exceptions list. Let's see if that makes a difference.

I've been having the same problem for 2 weeks now. I don't know if it started after I updated to IE 11 or before. This is very frustrating. I think there are a bunch of tulips at the top of this forum page and I can barely read if I'm signed in or not. Everthing is overlapping. I've done all the maintenance regarding ccleaner and adaware and malwarebytes. I stay signed in at all the other sites I go to. This seems to be a problem with a lot of people here lately. MaG could you get your IT guy to have another look ? Thank you. Cathy

The IT has confirmed that there is nothing in the program that causes the frequent signing out. Well, I'm not sure how to break the news to them It's still an issue, I've been logging in all day. Once my status is displayed as logged in on the forum home page, I open a sub-forum and my status is updated to logged out. From there it's an endless cycle of logging in and opening a sub forum only to find I'm no longer logged in. This only occurs with IE 11, so maybe the code has some incompatibility with it.

I have no issues at all with Firefox. I'll use IE 11 today and see what happens.

Just a stab in the dark in case any of you haven't tried it... If you are coming here through a Favorites link, delete it and set a new one.
I've been in and out and clicking everywhere using IE 11 and no problems. I'm sure a new cookie was set as I seldom ever use IE and I had to sign in initially.

So, I've been in and out a dozen times in IE 11, clicking on subforums and just generally clicking around. So far, I've not been signed out. I'll keep using IE 11 for a couple of days to see what happens.

I've have been experiencing this "getting logged out" problem for weeks now but I just log myself back in - no big deal !! For me, it happens if I minimise the Gameboomer screen whilst I look at something else on the web. When I return to the Gameboomer screen I find I have been logged out. It happens using both Chrome and IE11 - and I've tried all the suggestions that have been offered here to no avail. [I don't use Firefox.] Of course, if I ever couldn't log myself back in THAT would be a problem !!

I've gone back to ie9, and removed the update to ie11. I had nothing but problems since I upgraded. Now I'm having a problem with an insidious ad program that puts a magnifying glass ikon on all pictures and such and ads pop up all over the place with no help from my pop-up blocker. It also highlights certain words in posts and articles and if clicked on, brings up other ads. It makes using my computer frustrating and definitely not fun. This is on ie and chrome. I'm trying adBlocker. I have run CCleaner and Malwarebytes but nothing touches it. Thanks for any help! Andrea PS: I was getting logged out quite alot too.
