Drac. I was going to run my Adwcleaner and today I got the message that it was an outdated version. So clicked on it to see where it would take me and it took me to the website I had mentioned before that was in a foreign language, at least to me, it was in French. So I clicked out and now when I click on the icon for Adwcleaner it has been moved or removed! I am going to include the link for the French site: (http://general-changelog-team.fr/fr/downloads/viewdownload/20-outils-de-xplode/2-adwcleaner)
Does this look familiar at all? I suppose I will now go back to bleeping computers and re-download that software.
What is causing this to happen? Have I got some virus/trojan, etc?

That is strange... the site you linked to is listed when you do a search for adwcleaner. I would get it from bleepingcomputer.com too - I trust them.

Terri,

Look in the upper righthand corner.
You can change the language from French to English in the little dropdown menu.

Maybe this is originally developed by a French company?

I don't understand why it took me there and I don't think it should have automatically removed my software, so I have no intention of d/loading from that site. This is the second time this has happened.

Traveler I use Bing translator but didn't bother because I'm somewhat leery of the site.

Thanks

Web of Trust gives the site an excellent rating, Terri, but do what's most comfortable for you.

I did find on bleeping computers that the French company did develop the software. Therefore the site is okay.
Thanks.

I had a feeling that was the case... but it's always best to be careful. I figured it was OK with the green rating from WOT, but you never know.
