Steam has Far Cry 3 on sale right now. It says it's action adventure, but also FPS. Open world, compares to Skyrim. I'm not sure what to make of it, whether I'd like it or not. I play RPG and adventure, not really FPS. Has anyone played this? What do you think? Thanks! think

EDIT: Steam also has the other Far Cry games on sale, including FC 1 & 2 and a stand alone Blood Dragon game. ??

Lan, I think we do have some Far Cry players. I don't do FPS...I'm no where near fast enough and tend to shoot my feet a lot puppy

I've played it and liked it quite a bit. Far Cry 1 & 2 are good too.

Thanks for the responses, guys! I looked over on the Steam forum for the game and found that some players were put off by the Uplay that Ubisoft uses. From what I can tell, Uplay is a DRM system that also allows players to connect with other players and earn achievements. At first, this extra DRM thing doesn't sound too great, but I've played other games with achievement and social connections (Dragon Age-Bioware and Sims 3-Origin, for example), and haven't had problems.

My main concern is the FPS aspect. I don't think I'd be good at it. The open-world sounds good, but maybe I should just stick to Skyrim. smile

I would rather just interact with Steam, but I had no problem with Ubisoft. Have you watched any of the gameplay in trailers or on YouTube? I played the game on easy and I would say it isn't any more difficult than Skyrim or many other RPGs. It was great fun climbing the radio towers and taking over the outposts. It is a great looking game.

Yes, I watched a little of the trailers. Gorgeous graphics. Definitely more fighting than adventuring, even if it is labeled an Action Adventure. They did say you could fish and hunt. Swim?

I was too hesitant about buying the game. Steam's daily sale for it is over. Maybe I'll consider it at some future sale. Now Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise is on sale. duh
