Thought it would never arrive! It's Buy-Day! I finally was able to put my order through on a new system after 10 years and much trying! This is the system I just ordered from eCollege:

Intel Gaming Series Configurator : Intel Core i5-4670 3.4Ghz 6MB Cache Quad-Core
Stock Intel LGA1150 Heatsink and Fan
GIGABYTE GA-Z87-HD3 (Intel Z87, HDMI, 2xPCI-E, 6xSATA, 4xDDR3)
8GB (4GBx2) PC3 10666 DDR3 1333Mhz Memory Lifetime Warranty
1TB Western Digital Black 7200RPM 64MB Cache SATA3 6Gbps
24X LG SATA Dual Layer DVD /-RW/CDRW w/LG Software
2GB GeForce GTX 770 GDDR5 PCI-E Dual-DVI/HDMI (Major Brand)
Apevia Black/Blue X-Dreamer 4 (4 5.25, 5 3.5) 5 Fans, Audio/USB 3.0
600watt Thermaltake TR2 W0388RU
Onboard LAN included
Onboard Sound included
Wires and Cables neatly tied up away from fans
3 Year Parts and Labor Warranty

I'm so excited! Now it's hurry up and wait. I've already got the Win 7 Home OS and I just purchased Malwarebytes Pro while it was on sale.

Congrat's SharonB, kinda fun huh!

Edit

One thing I did want to mention. Be very careful when you pull the foam out of your computer. If Ecollege does yours like they did mine they will put foam in to secure your video card. I thought I was careful but I pulled out the connection to my USB ports on the front of the case.(I did not know I did that) Fortunately for me I emailed Mike and told him they did not work and he is the one that said I might have disconnected the cable. And he sent a picture of the inside of my computer circling the area where the connection should be.. Thank heavens cause I would not have found it easily otherwise. So make sure you try all the USB ports and stuff.
Mike at ECollege is Great!

Thanks Winfrey! I'm glad you warned me. I'll be very careful. It would have been nice to get the Corsair Carbide case like you and Greyfuss, but it wasn't in my budget. I can only hope everything goes smoothly when I get the system. I was tempted to go with the Pink Dreamer case, but I had to consider my dignity...

Ah, so THAT'S why your front panel ports wouldn't work! Hopefully, you only had to reconnect the USB connectors - they aren't too bad. The rest of the front panel connectors are Lilliputian!!

That is SO exciting, Sharon! Can't wait until you get it and get it all set up... You can still get Microsoft Security Essentials as an anti-virus for Windows 7 if you don't have another one you prefer such as Avast, Avira or AVG. If you have a paid subscription to anti-virus, you should be able to transfer it.

Gardens put to bed for the winter. Time for some gaming!

Thanks Marian. Drac, I've been using the free version of Avast on this computer so I think I'll stick with that.

I'm so excited! I'm going to be decide myself when it's delivered! dance

Edit: Meant to say "beside" myself.

Have fun with your new computer, SharonB. Believe it or not I still have my WIN XP Dell computer, and it's working fine for me
(for now, anyway).

Do they tell you there is foam inside the computer? Because I would never know to open it up and look. I would plug it in and turn it on and what?

Yes, Mike at ECollege is great. I had an email prior to my delivery and he told me there was foam packed around the video card to protect it. Which I am glad they did. I just was not careful enough... to excited...lol

Drac... had to look up "Lilliputian" whistle

Thanks! My only real worry is getting the internet hooked up. So many wires. A new OS to get used to. I'm not as brave as Winfrey. I figure I'll go straight from 7 to the next generation OS.

Then I have to transfer my data that I need to the new computer. I'll need a new email program as I'm using Outlook now and I understand that won't work with 7.

Will it be a problem to use Norton backup on my XP system to back it up to my Win 7 system? If it comes to it I can just start from scratch.

Should I do a restore point before going online to update Windows and other drivers?

Sharon happydance
