DOSBOX works perfect for me - I still have the original disc's, and It's always installed.

This was my FIRST PC game, it got me hooked on gaming. It would be so nice to play it again, but I KNOW there is no way I'll ever play it on WIN7. LOL.

I have the Doom Collector's Edition CD running on my Win 7 64 bit computer (it contains Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, and Final Doom). It's running perfectly as a Windows program (not DOSBox) using Doom95.exe. It runs full screen in 640x480 resolution. In order to get the mouse to work in Win 7, I had to use this patch, DMouseXP.zip . It patches Doom95.exe so that the mouse will work in XP (also works For Win 7, and will probably work for Vista as well). If anybody has trouble with that link, I can email it to you. Just send me an email, and I will reply with the file attached (it's only 227k). If you use that patch, you can only run it once. If you try to run it a second time, it wants to undo the changes it made to Doom95.exe, even if you run it on a different copy of Doom95.exe. The Doom Collector's Edition uses three copies of Doom95.exe in separate folders (one each for Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, and Final Doom), so I had to patch one, and then copy the patched Doom95.exe to the other two folders. The Doom95.exe launcher took a really long time to load, but setting the compatibility to Windows 98 (all 3 copies) fixed that, and they're all running perfectly now.
