Here are mine. First is The Longest Journey. Two is The Journeyman Project3 Legacy of Time. Third is the Tex Murphy Series (all of them.Fourth is Atlantis (the original from Cryo in English of course) The Fifth is Blackstone Chronicles. The Sixth is Versailles. The Seventh is Amerzone

I just noticed that all of mine are 3rd person, 2D animated games (or was The Prophecy 1st person?). A good story with interesting characters and logic based puzzles make these games among the best (IMHO). We still haven't played Discworld, Monkey Island, Tex Murphy, etc. etc. - maybe next time they'll be on my list.

I'm not as big a gamer as most people here. I have many unfinished games which I can't recommend, because I haven't finished, but I have a few that are favorites and some others I've enjoyed.
