This li'l problem was given to my son's
brother-in-law's son math class, grade 5.
They were learning how to handle fractions.
Posting it because it's kinda fun to solve, but headachy!!
Circular pizzas, all same size, were cut:
some pizzas in 8 equal pieces, some in 6 equal pieces.
This was for the kids who were present
to celebrate Jack's birthday.
The pieces were all removed from the plates,
and laid all over the kitchen table!
After the party was over, Mom gathered the left-over
pieces and noticed that left was the equivalent of more than
1/2 an original pizza and less than a full original pizza.
What fraction of a pizza is the minimum that's left,
and what fraction of a pizza is the maximum that's left?
