I'm still playing Dagriesh here and there when I can. I haven't been on much lately. I go pretty slowly even when I am on a lot.

Congrats on all the accomplishments Guybrush and thanks for the heads up on the update. Looks like I am downloading all the new content even though I don't have access to it...not that I will need access anytime soon. smile

12XP is gone and new skills no longer free.

I'm still not convinced its actually Revan behind that mask, after all I killed it before.

Took most of the day to complete first of two new planets, by that I mean the quests. Will take another day to go on the scavanger hunt to get datacrons give permanent boost to stats. Made it to level 59 before leaving for 2nd planet.

All Planetary, Classic, Elite and Ultra Commendations were converted to Basic. Josra, my very first character had so many I upgraded his armor, Treek's and Blizz's and still had over 600 Basic Comms. Now over 700. The maximum is 1000. I just haven't taken the time to upgrade rest of my comps.

The down size to having all these Basic Commendations is that once you've update your armor, the armor you get as quest rewards is mostly useless. I did get a hat I put on one of my other companions.

New characters will probably get more out of the quest rewards.

You'd be doing a new quest line for the Shadow of Revan story line as well as several planet quests not directly related and one class specific quest. So Josra in the middle of doing the Revan stuff is given a bounty to take care of.

Apparently both sides get the same planet quests because at one point I was surrounded by republic characters waiting for the same spawn.

On this first planet are two flash points. You can get a group, or you can do solo versions. For the solo versions you're given an over powered droid to help you and your companion with mobs. It may not survive some of the bosses but ordinary mobs it mows down. If its killed you just summon a replacement. You can only do that outside of combat though.

For characters that haven't done the quests that lead to the Shadow of Revan story there are soloable versions of those flashpoints in case you can't find a group.

You'll get the Shadow of Revan quests in a new console thats appeared in your space ship.

The old skill tree has been replaced by Disciplines, most of which automatically unlock as you level. There are 7 places for utility skills which you have to fill yourself. There are a total of 21 such utilities so you cant half them all at the same time. They're divided between 3 levels, Skillful, Masterful and Heroic. After you have 3 Skillful, Masterful becomes available after 3 Masterful than Heroic opens up. When you reach level 59 there are no new skills to buy but you do receive a passive buff in your disciplines. At level 60 you'll open up your last Utility slot.

If you don't like your choices of utilities you can reset them and make new choices.

Josra completed Shadow Of Revan. Some of the quests, including the last fight, come back as weekly and daily quests.
Next I'll do the whole thing over on republic, Rojavon the smuggler. Oh Josra is now level 60.

I was half right about the ending. Which is actually a set up for chapter 6, next year?
Click to reveal..
"Return of the Emperor" or something like that, as he's the real threat to the galaxy, both republic and empire alike. No surprisingly this dark master has no loyalty to his own people.

The basic story is the same on republic character. I'm not sure if differences are because Rojavon is republic, because he's lightside where Josra is darkside, or it could be a combination. Guess I'll find out when I do this on lightside empire and darkside republic characters.

Second time through I think its going faster.

Before Shadow of Raven was announced there was a 3 part story line leading up to it, although we didn't know that at the time. It was divided into 3 parts.

Forging Alliances: Part 1 consisted of two four person flashpoints. They were in opposite order and had opposite goals on Republic and Empire. At the end of the second flash point you would have a chat with a new NPC and then nothing more for months.

Forging Alliances: Part II had one four player flash point which was the same on either side, except for who sent you to do it and the new NPC introduced at the end. Again there was a long pause before part III was introduced.

Forging Alliances: Part III had one four player flash point, which made it pretty clear what was coming next.

Although these flash points could all be repeated I never did repeat them. I just did them on 1 empire character (Josra) and one republic characcter (Rojavon).

Shadow of Raven introduced "Shadow of Revan: Prologue" which allows characters who have not done Forging Alliances to do so but in solo version of the four plash points. To assist you in these versions of the flash points you are joined by a Combat Support Droid, which is tank, dps and healer all in one. If it dies in battle you can summon a new one, after the fight.

You get Prologue on your ship. If you've already done Forging Alliances: Part III then you'll be given Shadow of Revan: Prologue and immediately be credited with having completed it before you get the cut scene which takes you into Shadow Of Revan.

Before Shadow of Revan level 55 was max so the Forging Alliances flash points did not give experience, now they do. Doing the first two got Ramei to level 56.

Josra and Rojavon my only characters that did the alliance story line so they got right into Shadow, my other 55s have to do the prelude.

Josra and Rojavon had the most Basic commendations, Josra still has more than he can use.

Disciplines may not have the same names as the skill trees, but it looks they may be in the same order. So if you had most of your points in first skill tree then you probably want the first discipline, second tree, second discipline, third tree, third discipline, unless you want to try something different. On characters that can tank that's always the first discipline, same for healers.

Level 60 armor so far seems to be armor you cant use until 60 but which acually has only 56 mods, so if you remove the mods you can use them on characters 56-59 anyway. It cost you credits. And you can only put the armoring on the same armor, ie chest goes to chest, belt to belt. You can however move the mods and enhancements around.

There are some bugs: before Shadow mounts could be added to strongholds as decorations. After Shadow mounts do not appear as unlocked or available so cant be placed. And mounts previously place cannot be removed, so you cant move them to a different spots. You can still see mounts listed under "all" (which includes mounts you have and ones you dont have yet) but even if you have them they can't be added to stronghold since they dont show as unlocked or available. Some mounts dont even show in "all".

Something odd with achievements, Yavin 4 for example shows under Exploration that there 315 points to get but there are only 20 points showing as available to get. Now sometimes there are hidden achievements that don't show until you do them, but 295 hidden explorations?

It's really nice that you can move the mods around.

I wonder if they are leaving room for planned expansions in the achieves?

Couple of corrections: you only have to choose 2 Masterful utilities before unlocking Heroic. YOu can reset utlities on the fly but Disciplines you have to goto the fleet, unless you've bought the field unlock through legacy system.

Rojavon just completed Shadow of Revan for the republic. Now Jora the buounty hunter is officially a member of the Sith Empire and Rojavon the smuggler is now an officer in the Galactic Republic's SIS (there version of the CIA). They are no longer usefull "outsiders".

In the solo version of the final flash point you don't have the droid, instead several other NPCs join you. My experience so far, is that unless you are the tank you want to bring tank companion and depend on the NPCs for healing, on both characters I failed until I switched out healer for tank. Tweek if you have can do both buy put her in tank mode, she'll still do some healing.

Oh great after impoverishing Josra and bankrupting Rojavon and Ramei with the absurd high cost of buying skills they've once again removed the cost.

Took 2 minutes to max out how much Rishi reputation I could use for the week. I hate that. It resets on Tuesday and is gone again in minutes.

I just found out the Nar Shaddaa stronghold has a landing pad you can actually jump to (took me 3 tries). If you have a space ship decoration, you can place one ship there. I don't. Or you can change the layout to centerpiece and put a Revan statue there. Actually several.
To get back up to rest of stronhold you either type /stuck or jump off and die to reappear back up.
