What about this one, Richard... Does it look like it might work? It's 365 watts which might me enough since there is very little else in this computer. I didn't see any Molex connectors though - what kind of connectors do you need for things like your hard drive, CD drive etc?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Desktop-240V-365W-Power-Supply-HP-437357-001-SP-437799-001-/390831634562

Also found this one that does have Molex connectors, but it's pretty pricey. Not sure what that bracket is about.

As I mentioned for the other one, the problem is that it only has SATA connectors... If your hard drive and CD drive use Molex, then it won't work unless you get adapters.

Here is a picture of one of the adapters that has both ends. Look at the 4 pin Molex end (white) and then look at the connections for your drives and other hardware. See which kind they need. There are two connections for the hardware - one is for power and one is for data. So be sure you have enough connections

SATA to Molex

Where did you find the other power supply? Do the holes seem to be the same as your old power supply?

I used the Full Reply Screen option and then clicked on the link option. It's the little earth icon second from the left when you open up the Full Reply Screen. I copied the url of the web page and pasted it and then just typed in the words I wanted.

The URL of the webpage is the address line at the top of your browser. Since it depends on which browser you're using, I can't say exactly where, but it should be at the top and maybe over to the left. It should say something like, "www.gameboomers.com" (just an example) and maybe with more stuff after it. You can just highlight it, right click and select copy and the then paste it into the link tool in the Full Reply Screen.

Can you just copy and paste the URL in the post without using the Full Reply option? Maybe just let me know what website it is and I can find it for you?

You don't see a button for "Switch to Full Reply Screen" under the "Quick Reply" Window at the bottom of the page?

I always do it manually. For example, without the extra spaces...

[ u r l = h t t p : w w w . e x a m p l e . c o m ] E x a m p l e [ / u r l ]

[ u r l = whatever the http link is ] What you want to call the link [ / u r l ]

or click the Quote button at the bottom of Draclvr's post so you can see how it's constructed.

When you are posting here at GB, there are 3 options at the bottom of the white space for your reply. Submit, Preview Reply and Switch to Full Reply Screen. When you click on Switch to Full Reply Screen, you will get all the options for smilies, links, quotes, etc.

I usually do it manually too as that's the only option we have over at Mystery Manor and I'm so used to it.

All of it. Everything that's in the address bar of the page you want to link to.

Did you click on the little earth looking icon? When you do, it first asks for the URL... HTTP is already there, so you may have to delete that first so it isn't repeated. Paste your URL - the entire thing as Jenny said - into the space. Next screen asks you what you want your text to be - type it in and hit OK.

Your link above doesn't work either - part of it may be missing.

Now you're rocking and rolling!

The cheaper 365 watt power supply is a used one which is why it's cheaper. That shouldn't be a problem though. But, you've never answered about what kind of connections you have to your hard drive or CD drive or whatever else you have in this computer. This power supply only has 5 SATA connectors, but no Molex connectors. If your hardware has Molex connections, then you would need to get enough SATA to Molex adapters to make all your connections. Also as I said earlier, you have 2 connections to make for each piece of hardware - data and power. So be sure you have carefully reviewed exactly what you will be needing.

No, you need to look at the connections on your hardware... You've also got to specify which computer we're talking about. You're getting me mixed up with dealing with getting a power supply to run your old PC with the 7600 GT video card I sent you and the main PC.

I'm already easily confused, so just one subject at a time, please!

Draclvr sorry I will stick to the old computer with a AGP card. Back to a power supply to fit my old pc. Let me look and see what kind of connections are on the power supply that I want to put in my old pc. That web site you had on your post a while back won't load. SATA to Molex. Could you do it again

Richard

Richard, the color has nothing to do with the connectors... it's the shape and the number of pins. I posted a link to that adapter because it shows what both a SATA connector looks like and what a Molex connector looks like. We don't care what's on the power supply right now because we know - they are all SATA. As I've said in a couple of other posts, what you need to know is what kind of connections are on your hardware. Look the hard drive and the CD drive and whatever else is in this computer... what connections THEY NEED is the question you need to answer.

Molex connections have 4 large pins. Please find out what your HARDWARE has and we'll go from there.
