Climbing out of poverty by your own efforts that is something on which to pride yourself, but poverty itself is romanticized only by fools.
J. K. Rowling, Harvard Commencement Address, 2008
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Take the prospective employees you are trying to place and put them in a room with only a table and two chairs. Leave them alone for two hours, without any instruction. At the end of that time, go back and see what they are doing.
If they have taken the table apart, put them in Engineering.
If they are counting the butts in the ashtray, assign them to Finance.
If they are waving their arms and talking out loud, send them to Consulting or Sales.
If they are talking to the chairs, Personnel is a good spot for them.
If they are jittery and crazed from 2 hours without an internet connection, Computer Information Systems is their home.
If the room has a sweaty odour, put them in Help Desk.
If they mention what a good price we got for the table and chairs, send them to Purchasing.
If they mention that hardwood furniture DOES NOT come from rainforests, Public Relations would suit them well.
If they are sleeping, they are Management material.
If they are writing up the experience, send them to the Technical Documents team.
If they don't even look up when you enter the room, assign them to Security.
If they try to tell you it's not as bad as it looks, send them to Marketing.
Terrific Tuesday ya'll lab
The sun found us. Should end up in the high 60's by late afternoon. Hopefully the doggies and I will go out and walk in circles.
Joe, I'm joining you in "taxing" today. Tried to finish it up yesterday but when I printed the forms, I discovered I was out of black ink. So, hubby bought me some yesterday and I'm printing as I type. I'm such a great multitasker lol
I'll bop out to mail and get our new car tags in a bit. Then there is jerky to finish and get in the dehydrator, and flank steak to get into a marinade. And then we will see what the day brings.
birthday Doc, wishing you a great one birthday
Back after errands. wave
Good morning boomies! Lovely 50 degree sunny day here and getting ready to run the dogs. I hope Merlin does better than yesterday but not holding too much hope on that. Then I will be in the corner until class tonight.
Gorgeous day today, same as yesterday! I'm exhausted. Weather is awesome, but my Yard Kid dropped by and he needs constant supervision. I ended up in 80+ heat for an hour telling him each step in replanting some pot bound lilies, and removing 7 foot tall growth of geraniums that had toppled a wooden fence, then removing the fence (rotted bottom) and putting it where the exposed rusty nails would be safe.
Was a big day of heat and work. Ended up giving him (and insisting he drink) 2 waters, 2 cranberry juice, 2 Sierra Mist, plus 2 slices of Pizza. Now I wait to see if any of the repotted lilies survive. Always a guessing game. He works hard but is a hurry all the time and you can't leave him alone. Last time I had repotting done, he yanked out the plants, destroying the roots on most, and on the rest he chopped the 'extra dirt' off with a shovel, which chopped off ALL the roots on those plants. I managed to get most of them to regrow with a load of encouragement and help from 'above'. Whew.
Missing one Outdoorsie today. I got up late, so he probably figured no food and went off on 'the hunt'. Hopefully he will appear later. Hot day, all cats are sleeping in the shade anyway.
Off to enjoy the weather!
Nice day here today but quite windy. If I open the front and back doors and a strong north wind blows due south the dirt, pet hair etc blows from the back of the house to the front and out the door. OK If you don't use your head, you use your feet.
Games arrived last evening, just like Amazon said they would OjoyOjoy. And I first put on Assassins Creed. Now why did I buy that game because I don't like them but this time I'm going to stick with it and finish the bugger -just because it's on PS4. Also got COD ghosts but if they kill the doggy that game will be under the hammer and saw. The last game is Battlefield 4 which I will enjoy. Am currently playing Killzone 4 (again) and Knack for the 3rd time. You just gotta like that little knack. There's alot of good looking pre-order PS4 games worth waiting for.
My yard is full of wonderful wildflowers, spring is here but where are the geese? Let's hope there's some left.
Happy tuesday all and to the geese
Ahhhh Back from our walk. It's a gorgeous day out there. Now finally going to sit and sip for a sec. wave
Ana, I hope Merlin does better. Maybe the warmer weather will help.
Sorta, sounds like your yard boy doesn't know anything about actually growing anything. luck
Yankee, I'd like to clean my house that way, but whoa, I'd loose a lot of paperwork. lol Have fun and enjoy the wildflowers wave
Doc, now you've made me hungry for chinese......wave
No Abbi today as her auntie wanted to take her. I will have her tomorrow though as gramma wants to get a few things done around the house and can't do them when she is there. lol
Spent all morning walking the big mall in Duluth with a friend who was looking for some black boots. Needless to say we did not have any success but lots of walking in. lol
Karen birthday Sounds like you are having lots of fun for your birthday! happydance
Ana hope Merlin has a better day today!! HUGS! May the corner be kind and the puzzles easy!
L4l best of luck with the taxes!!
