Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam,
Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home.
John Howard Payne (1791 - 1852)
~~~~~~~~~~
Many women are afraid of their first mammogram, but theres no need to worry. By taking a few minutes each day for a week preceding the exam, and doing the following practice exercises, you will be totally prepared. And you can do this right in your own home!
Exercise 1
Open your refrigerator door and insert one breast between the door and the main box. Have one of your strongest friends slam the door shut and lean on the door for good measure. Hold that position for five seconds (while you hold your breath). Repeat again, in case the first time wasnt effective enough.
Exercise 2
Visit your garage at 3 am when the temperature of the cement floor is just perfect. Take off your clothes and lie comfortably on the floor with one breast wedged under the rear tire of the car. Ask a friend to slowly back the car up until your breast is sufficiently flattened and chilled. Turn over and repeat for the other breast.
Exercise 3
Freeze two metal bookends overnight. Strip to the waist. Invite a stranger into the room. Press the bookends against one of your breasts. Smash the bookends together as hard as you can. Set an appointment with the stranger to meet next week and do it again!!
CONGRATULATIONS! Now you have nothing at all to worry about when you go for your mammogram!
Fitness Thoughts
My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. She's 97 now & we don't know where the hell she is!
The only reason I would take up jogging is so I could hear heavy breathing again.
I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to show up?
I have to exercise in the morning before my brain figures out what I'm doing.
I don't exercise at all. If God meant us to touch our toes, he would have put them further up our body.
I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.
I have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them.
The advantage of exercising every day is that you die healthier.
If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country.
I don't jog... it makes the ice jump right out of my glass.
You are quite the poet Joe! That was very impressive! Enjoy your day off!
Much like everyday this week, I have class in the morning, then run the dogs and then hopefully finish up my project.
I wish you all a very happy day!
Thumping good Thursday ya'll lab
It's gonna be a nice day out there. I'm heading out to take the monkeys walking and then Seagy to the vet for a blood test which they will fax to AU. Then The AU folks will call me to greenlight this week's chemo which is being given at home.
I think I will conduct the great search for my desk top when I get back. wave
Wind blowing from the south today so the dust, dirt pet hair etc will exit home through the back door. I'm beginning to welcome windy days. In the 80's and sunny and windy = ideal.by-by
Had to put peppermint oil in the kitchen and several closets due to mice-ees. They have 13.89 acres to run about and it's warm now so by-by. I hope. Gave the kits a pep talk. They slept while I announced.
I'm almost finished with Knack and it will be retired -maybe. Knack has enough crystals to be a vampire knack but I must start the game all over again. COD Ghost is a good game, you do alot of different things.
Been waiting all day yesterday and today for the pharmacy to have my BP and cholesterol meds and no go. Somethings amiss.
Happy Thursday all
Awesome class today and have to do a store run again but I will stay out of trouble. Almost killed a guy for throwing his weights down and it bounced and just missed my bad toe. I was not happy!
It is raining on and off so I am letting the dogs rest today. I think Merlin can use it anyways.
Be back in a bit...have a wonderful day!
Well, not good news at the vet...Seagy's white blood cell count is too low for chemo which is most likely why she is back to not eating.
Heading up to cut up meat for jerky for her. Back in a bit! wave
The day started out fine. Then there was the lost dog. Uhhuh. Yard kid was summoned to the street by a van and then I saw the dog. Cute little beaglish female with a pink collar. No tags, no address inside. I'm a CAT person so thankfully the yard kid helped me. Got the dog some water and food. She really didn't seem to need it. One lick, one bite. Had been wandering for a few hours according to yard kid. In and out of traffic, so I got a rope, had him tie her to the fence under the tree out front and I insisted he stay there with the dog until animal control could get here. They arrived in about 15 minutes and took her to the shelter. Too pretty, too well cared for. Never saw such WHITE teeth and clean ears. Nice doggie. Someone either left a gate open, or worse, dumped it in the neighborhood (they do that around here). Hope owner finds her or at least she gets a new home. Poor thing. Never saw such a well behaved, friendly dog. Wow.
THEN I called an insurance agent recommended by my friends (wanted to change from my agent of 30+ years who isn't doing well by me). He was out, but the secretary or whoever, said, "Oh we don't do that. We don't change agents, because they still hold the original commissions." Huh? I'm being held hostage by my agent who seems to be padding the coverages and I am not ALLOWED to change? Never heard of that one. Might be a 'code of ethics' between agents with the same company. I could understand that one, but not fair to the customers. IF this new guy says no, I'll call my agent and insist on a new 'look' at my policies for my houses. Why am I paying for 17k plus 13k of coverages on my 2 rentals for OUTBUILDINGS when all that is there are two 6x8 metal sheds? Seems a bit much to me, but my agent just gives me the run-around when I ask about it.
If no change is available, I'm changing companies. Period.
afternoon everyone. ana and l4l hope pups start feeling better soon. not fun when our babies are sick and not feeling good. well got 5 babies chicks out in the garage that we bought today. hubby wanted some laying hens so i let him get them. yankee, we got peppermint oil on cottons balls and i found some sachets called magic mice at ace hardware that has peppermint in them to use too. also bought me a chocolate mint plant that i ma going to grown in the house in a flower pot.we are taking off tomorrow to take granddaughter down to visit with her mom, hubby and i can't go in since we have been sick.don't want daughter to have any more problems than she has with this nasty cancer. she had to be admitted to the hospital monday as an outpatient for a blood transfusion cause of the chemo wrecking havoc on her white and red blood cells this last time. we had 85 degree weather yesterday and today a little cooler but i have got to wear shorts and a tank for 2 days in a row now.i love it
I took the dogs for a sunset run and swim. They gave hubby an earful when he got home and I felt bad so I just made it there. What we don't do for our dogs. puppy
Now I am desperately trying to finish my project. I won't have much time the next few days.
Good evening. Just relaxing now after a busy day. Worked tonight but home now. I'm scheduled to work in the morning. No big deal though. They are going to the symphony in Boston.
Talked to my Mom today. She's back in the hospital for another episode with congestive heart favor. She has trouble breathing when it happens. I feel bad for her. I don't think she's gonna be well much longer. It's happening more frequently. I sure could use a few prayers for her. Her birthday is May 6th, she'll be 95 years old. Thank you guys.
I'm going to look for my pillow now. Night all.
Midgie hearts
Just do it.
Aw Midge....HUGS!!!! Sending prayers! Will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.
L4l.....HUGS!!!
Ana....HUGS!!!
My10 keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Prayers for the Band of Angels around you all as you are traveling tomorrow. HUGS!!
I think that we have lost a foot of snow in the last day or two. happydance I walk the sidewalk and on one side is two feet of snow and on the other is grass, some green but mostly brown.
Time to be finding my pillow. Abbi wore me out. lol She wanted to watch a movie so I had her pick one at Netflex. So I figured I could do a little gaming. Well she was more interested in my game then her movie and kept say, "GG, we have to find her sister", lol Then we made three pies and took a nice long walk with Sassy so she could do somemore puddle jumping. I told her we will find "her sister" tomorrow.
Night all sleep well and pleasant dreams!
