The Hotel Bill

An elderly lady decided to give herself a big treat for her significant birthday by staying overnight in one of Chicago 's most expensive hotel.
When she checked out next morning, the desk clerk handed her a bill for $250.00.
She exploded and demanded to know why the charge was so high. "It's a nice hotel but the rooms certainly aren't worth $250.00 for just an overnight stop without even breakfast."
The clerk told her that $250.00 is the 'standard rate' so she insisted on speaking to the Manager.
The Manager appeared and forewarned by the desk clerk announced: "the hotel has an Olympic-sized pool and a huge conference center which are available for use."
''But I didn't use them," she said.
''Well, they are here, and you could have," explained the Manager.
He went on to explain that she could also have seen one of the in-hotel shows for which the hotel is famous. "We have the best entertainers from New York , Los Angeles , and Las Vegas performing here," the Manager said.
"But I didn't go to any of those shows," she said.
Well, we have them, and you could have," the Manager replied.
No matter what amenity the Manager mentioned, she replied, "But I didn't use it!"
The Manager was unmoved, so she decided to pay, wrote a check and gave it to the Manager.
The Manager was surprised when he looked at the check. " But madam, this check is only made out for $50.00." '
'That's correct. I charged you $200.00 for sleeping with me," she replied.
"But I didn't!" exclaims the very surprised Manager.
"Well, too bad, I was here, and you could have."

Gentle Thoughts for Today

Birds of a feather flock together . . . and then poop on your car.

A penny saved is a government oversight.

The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight, because by then your body and your fat have gotten to be really good friends.

The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement.

If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

The sole purpose of a child's middle name is so he can tell when he's really in trouble..

Did you ever notice: When you put the 2 words 'The' and 'IRS' together it spells 'Theirs...'

Aging: Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to your youth, think of Algebra.

You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks.

One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from being young. Ah, being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.

Sorry you have to go back to work today. I'd love to be retired. I don't think it'll ever happen but I can dream. lol

I have a class in the morning and then a corner day. It is supposed to be stormy so I may not get a run in with the dogs. It's chilly again here, back down to the 30's and 20's with a chance of snow. Yuck. sad

Have a happy day all!

Magnificent Monday ya'll puppy

Well, the storms have found us...grey skies and lots of rain...supposed to be in the 30's tomorrow night. But, I know some of you guys has snow so I'm going to count my blessings. I was going out to do some shopping today, but will push it off til tomorrow to see if the rain stops.

Tummy feeling quite icky, so I'm going to be very quiet today and see if it improves. I have a few things on the "have to do" list, and then after that, I may go back to bed. wave

Good morning everybody. wave

I'm getting ready to leave for work in about an hour. yes

We had some storms last night, but they didn't last very long. It's very overcast again today, and windy as well, and we are not supposed to get above 50 degrees. smirk

Tomorrow we'll be back into the mid 60s. crazy

I keep putting my jackets away thinking I'm done with them, then having to get them back out. duh

I hope we get some more rain today.

I hope you all have a super Monday. rah

I'll be home after 9:00 tonight. wave

What a day to sleeeep. The kits got it right -they are sleeping, curled up like in winter and Buttercup purrs but doggy is in and out as she likes to bark and chase the thunder. And I'm scared of the lightening because we were hit once. Austin has quarter sized hail and torrential rain, much worse there than here. We are like 30 miles east of Austin.

Everybody remember the lunar eclipse tomorrow night.
