What time zone is this referring to? Is it 6:00 for whatever time zone or if it's say 6:00 EST it would be 3:00 Arizona time. So as I'm in Arizona can I get the game at 3:00 or do I have to wait till 6:00?
Rgards,

We have 4 time zones in the US so it's different for many of us. Anyone can convert the time here. Bottom line is, the game is out now.

Great news. I'm downloading as I type, unfortunately, I've been having trouble with my DSL and I am only getting about 3.5 speeds right now and it is supposed to be close to 5. (Don't understand exactly what the numbers mean but I'm sure some more tech savvy person will and this is the fastest speed available in my area). Anyway my download speed showing from GOG is averaging 3.5 kB/s and you have to re-download Episode 1 along with Episode 2 so the total download is 6.7GB.
So I will be starting the game in a few hours.
You laugh because I'm different I laugh because you're all the same
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Do you have to play all of the first one. It's been a while since I played the first one so I looked at the WT and it started at the beginning of the WT. Richard

You should not Richard. All the other download places seem to be working fine but those that used GoG are experiencing your issue. I'll keep you posted if I find a solution. I would contact them in the meantime though because it's their issue.

I was a "backer" and have just downloaded from GOG without any problems However, I discovered that there wasn't a Part One and a Part Two as I had expected - just the whole "Broken Sword 5" game. For me that was straight forward because I had waited until the whole game was available before I downloaded anything. BUT I can understand the frustrations of those who downloaded Part One when IT was made available because, apart from at the forum related to the game, I couldn't find any information as to why only the whole game is now being offered as a download. And at the forum there are a lot of people venting their displeasure about that !! EDIT : I just went back to GOG and the advice at the forum appears to be to back up any saves from a previous play of Part One, then uninstall that Part One and download the full game that's now being offered. Apparently quite a lot of technical changes have been made and that is why only the full game download is now available. It does sound, though, as if saves made during the that original Part One will work with this new full game download. [There are six "items" to download but with superfast Broadband the whole thing took less than hour for me.]

That's what I thought Mad that there was to be Part One and a Part Two. When I first start a new game it looked like the beginning of part 2 but when it ended it went to part 1. I played part 1 when it first came out and I don't want to play it again. At least you didn't play part 1 and you can play it. I hope GOG can come up with a fix. I'm playing the game on another pc so I won't have any saves from part 1. Richard

That's a pity, kjos, that you don't have access to your previous saves because it appears they could probably turn out to be at least in part a saving grace for some folk .... Maybe you could get a suitable save from the original Part One sent to you from someone here at Gameboomers ?? I think the lack of plainly visible information at the download site has been pretty bad

Here is a message from the developer: Thank you so much for all your messages and support. To be clear, Episode 2 is a free update for those have already bought Episode 1 on PC/Mac/Linux. Because of this you will need to continue the game from the last save - if you no longer have a save game then let us know at support@revolution.co.uk and we will send you one. We are hearing reports that the GoG version is not running correctly from Episode 1 into Episode 2, and that the Mac version is yet to be made available. We are working with GoG to try and resolve these problems - we apologise for the delay. For Kickstarter backers who have yet to redeem the game at all, please log in to your backer panel via our new website here: http://accounts.revolution.co.uk/login

Oh God, I just played quite a lot, and possibly this is just episode 1.
And finding saved games on a Mac is usually quite a nightmare.
Thanks Ana!
Edit: Phew, I just found the saved games in the Library, Application Support then Broken Sword 5.

ana. Samuel, The game if bought now is played as one game (part 1 and 2 together). As stated, the posted walkthrough is for part 1 only; part 2 will be added as soon as I replay and write. Finished the game this afternoon. Life is calling!

dragon, if you've already bought and installed the first chapter of BS5 from Steam, then all you should need to do is run a game update and then continue with your save game from the end of chapter one. A forum member on Steam adds: "Set the update priority of the game to "high - ASAP" and then try to restart Steam. if this doesn't work, you can only wait. the update should arrive eventually." Hope that helps.

Although I haven't needed any help as I didn't download the game until both parts of it were finished and made available via GOG, I just wanted to say that as a "backer" I've had emails - from both Kickstarter and Revolution - offering saved games/assistance for BS5. So it looks like help for those with problems IS definitely out there

I am playing Episode two with no problems I just overwrite the save like Rushes said and its fine. The only worry I have is that it will finish very quickly, does anyone know if it is a long episode, I just hate for it to end. Regards Maggsie

Just finished broken sword 5 part 2. Good game I think I liked the first one better. All in all it was a good game. The hints were really helpfull. Richard

The goat has a voice? You've got me, chrissie. I was playing the game late last night and had the sound turned down to avoid having the neighbors banging on the walls so I really can't tell you. Maybe she bleats or whatever goats do. At any rate, Rolf Saxon is listed as giving her a voice and I did laugh when I saw that. (Turns out, our evil friend is a she though I'd sure never have guessed; looks like a male to me.) Gil.

Yes. The goat bleats. Although only very briefly. [It certainly doesn't "talk". Unless we meet it again later in the game than where I am - and it does then ] It's much more interested in doing what goats like to do !!

Just about to finish episode 2 and I am dreading it. George with Trevor the cockroach what an absolute hoot. I am still laughing when George said "Go Trevor Go "Plus he crawled back in the match box. Hilarious I hope there are some more moments like that. Great game but not long enough and a bit to easy.I wish it was as long as The Sleeping Dragon. George and Nico What a pair!!! roll the next one LOL Regards Maggsie

Played the whole of BS5 now and was SO pleased the developers treated us to the style of the two original Broken Swords. Felt just like meeting an old friend Enjoyed the game very much - despite a couple of spots where things really did get a little silly - but then there's nothing new about that happening in Adventure games What I'm certainly hoping now is Revolution will go on to give us an "original style" BS6 as well

Well I also finished the game and the first question that popped into my head was But all in all I thought it was a great game reminiscent of the original games. I'm glad they kept the feel of the original in this sequel. So.................Broken Sword 6?????
You laugh because I'm different I laugh because you're all the same
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

If you want 4, Jo, go get it. I've never played it but it's a very different game from BS1, 2 and 5 (which is why I'm not interested). Five goes back to the world of the first two games and 4 is not incorporated in it at all. Talk about comparing apples and kumquats....

John, I'm afraid that they DID eat that poor goat. That means there WON'T be a sequel UNLESS they get another goat. LOL Sandy
