Well, it's not actually "in" the secretaire, as I just saw when I replayed to that point.
Look on top.
It's a small greyish white line.
Welcome to the world of pixel hunting! lol

WOW! This game is really "taking off", fellow Boomers. I'm playing the DEMO, but I'm afraid that I'm going to need a walkthrough. If a wt becomes available, I will definitely purchase the FULL version. Meanwhile I'm still "trudging along" at the beginning. HAPPY GAMING!

I think we all need a WT Sandy. It's a hard game I think. I like it though.

I noticed that the DEMO does NOT allow loading of games once you have "quit" it. I'll just have to start over again, "Life is full of obstacles." LOL
Sandy

WELL, I 'bit the bullet" and purchased the game from GOG. When I played the DEMO, I was able somehow to get TO the "code" puzzle (at the start of the game), but I don't remember how I did it, so I'm "stuck" here. How do you get to that CODE INTERFACE in order to do the puzzle? I saved the part just after solving that puzzle in the DEMO, but those saves are NOT compatible with the FULL version (You get an error message when trying to LOAD those saves that I made in the DEMO.) Sure could use a WT right about now.

Look at the book.
Notice the ISBN code is odd and may be some other kind of code.
Look at the newspaper if you haven't already.
Ord makes a comment.
Go to your bookshelf and choose the book on Chemistry.

Gil.

Not me.
There is a few seconds pause after the dragon speaks to Freja.
It may mean something but I haven't figured out what if it does.

I'm still in the running trying to defeated the dragon. Haven't figured out how.
There isn't nothing I haven't tried. If you figured it out Gil just let me know. I've looked all over for a WT but no luck.

Click to reveal..
Gil I found this in the web (sounds like a bug maybe. You have to drink the 2nd well water right before you exchange, then she takes you away, she drinks the clear water, then she goes and drinks the 3rd well water, and it kills her

It worked.
Click to reveal..
To be clear, you empty your flask into the bowl.
Fill the flask from the second well.
Drink from the flask right before giving the bowl to the dragon.
There's those few seconds accounted for.

I see why it killed Semita but I'm still not sure about...well, maybe I'll figure out how Freja survives later.
Edit: Dumb me.
Click to reveal..
Freja survived because she drank poisoned water from the 2nd well and the dragon gave her water from the 3rd, which was higher up.

Gil I'm in the dragons cave. Picked up some inventory items. Semita is dead I think.

I made it out of the dragon cave. I could tell you how I did it but it was really easy and don't want to spoil it for you. I'm at the island of Fardo now.

Hey, Richard,

Long day at work, just getting back to it.
Okay, I'm sure the chess puzzle has to do with something Ord mentioned before about placing 8 Queens so none of them threaten one another.
Oh, boy, and me an ignoramus when it comes to chess - but can't a Queen move in any direction?
Maybe it's one place at a time.
I'll have to look it up.
Maybe they can be jammed up against one another so they can't move; i.e., 8 queens straight across.
Haven't tried it yet.
Maybe the King can be moved if you get the queens placed correctly.
Could the chest key be under him?

What you see through the telescope must relate to the poem.
The ancient hero is probably Hercules.
You see images of the constellations derived from the labors of Hercules, I think, in the Diary.
"All but one have gone asunder."
Well, I suppose that means only one is complete and will offer the clue to the numbers on the chest's lock.
That image on the lock looks like a harpy to me.

"Wandering from sea to sea" may have to do with what you see when you click on Chapter One
Click to reveal..
and it repeats Freja's
ride across the sky and you see the young dragon go back to the cliff.

I hope you crack it because I doubt I'll have an answer soon! lol

Half a sec later: Ord saw that problem about the queens when he was taking a random book down from the shelf in the library.

Gil.

The correct sign is harpy 4 and 8 on the telescope. That's as far as I got. Don't know anything about chess.

Makes sense, dragon.
I'm probably over-thinking this.
Have you tried it?

Gil I got the chess figured out and you get the chest key.
Click to reveal..
Look at harpy and put the chess on the right spot. Use the key and I think you have to put the numbers 7 and 8. Than you can take a nap.
