Hi Boomers smile

I am an avid adventure fan and although I am not very active in these forums, I have been watching the discussions here for a long time and I have a lot of respect for GameBoomers community.

Recently, I added a blog part to my personal website and I decided to share my adventure game reviews from there. I have been writing reviews in Turkish for quite a while, but in order to reach a wider audience I have decided to translate them to English and keep writing the new reviews in English from now on.

Currently I only have 2 reviews on the website, but I plan on increasing that number in short term.

Here is review of Rhem I have written back in 2006:

http://kemalure.com/?page_id=89

And here is a very recently written review of Testament of Sherlock Holmes

http://kemalure.com/?page_id=121

I am in desperate need of feedback from you in order to improve my writing ! Obviously English is not my native language, so I am sure I am making some stupid grammatical mistakes. I am also quite sure that some of the phrases I use would not be chosen by a native English speaker. I welcome your comments on these reviews. Aside from that, any comment on higher level writing style is also much welcome.

Thanks ! I hope you enjoy the reviews.

Hi Kemal, I think you are doing very well with your reviews, and writing them also in English should help in bringing them to a wider audience (I admire your ability to do so!). I hope your gaming blog goes well; I really enjoy reading reviews of adventure games. wave

Thanks for your kind words Marian smile I will definitely keep updating the blog with reviews. There are currently around 100 reviews (mostly old games) that is waiting to be translated and I plan on writing new ones for the more recent games I have played.

Hi everyone, I have added a bunch of new reviews to my blog. There are reviews for new games (for instance, Cognition) as well as older games such as Black Mirror. Enjoy!

Thank you, Kemal - I will check out the reviews. I recently finished playing The Black Mirror for the second time and am interested in what you have to say about it.

I will look forward to your reviews of Black Mirror II and III as well. wave

Looking forward to your thoughts about Moebius - opinions on this game differ greatly, as you are probably already aware. grin

Welcome to our Gameboomers community, Kamal. By the way, your English is not as bad as you THINK it is. GOOD LUCK!
Sandy

Kemal, I read your review of Rhem (a game that kicked me over and over again, then went and bought boots to make me remember the experience). You explained why the game did what it did to me, and I agree with Marian that writing reviews (something that is NOT easy) will bring these games to a wider audience, and help you improve your writing skills. I've read reviews by native speakers that left me scratching my head in confusion. I was not confused by your review.

Hi Kemal, I've read through a few of your reviews - they really are so well written I would not have guessed you weren't a native English speaker!

I love the fact that you have written about games that you have enjoyed, been very descriptive on the story & content but haven't been forgiving on the 'flaws' of the game as you see it (without spoilers) & included good constructive criticism! Thank you Kemal - I enjoyed reading your reviews! smile

Chrissie and Bubbajake, sorry I just saw your comments. Thanks a lot for your encouraging inputs, I am so happy that you enjoyed my reviews smile

I also want to mention another thing. I created this thread to share my reviews with other fellow adventure lovers and to get some feedback. I had no other intent. I am not trying to advertise a product or make money out of this.

I wanted to mention this, because I created similar threads on other adventure websites and got negative comments. One of them actually deleted my account without giving any explanation.. I am glad that I got positive reaction from the GB community.

Just to make it clear that I am not trying to make use of GB forums to promote my blog, I am not going to post further updates or reviews here. But of course I would be more than happy if you visit my blog smile For the last time, I will share the review of Moebius here because I told I would do it in a previous post

http://kemalure.com/blog-2/oyun/moebius-empire-rising

Thanks a lot for your comments and happy gaming smile
