From RPGwatch comes words that Bioware just released - ehm - the date for when DA: Inquisition will be available in stores throughout the world. (of half the world anayway), linky: http://www.rpgwatch.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24106Here's a snip from the press release: LONDON, UK – April 22, 2014 – BioWare™, a division of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA), today announced that the highly-anticipated, epic role-playing game, Dragon Age™: Inquisition will be available in stores and for digital download on October 7 in North America and October 10 in Europe. In Dragon Age: Inquisition, the expansive, beautiful world of Thedas is being torn apart by a massive, mysterious breach in the sky. Players must assume the role of the Inquisitor and lead a team of legendary heroes to uncover the truth behind the impending devastation. Here's a thread from the Bioware DA:Inquistion forum where you can find a discussion about the new trailer, linky: http://forum.bioware.com/topic/502644-group-shot-and-new-trailer/And here's a thread where you can see some of the screens form the new trailer up close and discuss them, linky: http://forum.bioware.com/topic/502671-new-trailer-screens/As a personal note, I'll add this: This game is coming out, in Denmark and in Europe, just before a major autumn/fall holiday. DA: Inquistion's release date on October 10th 2014 suits me just fine...

Oh wow. I hope this one is more like DA:O, with the more open world. But either way, count me in.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hagatha and other fellow boomers As far as I can understand from the info I have (from around the webpages I visit and from the DA devs on the DA: Inq.'s forums) it is like DA:O with the more open world. There will be, however, a sort of prologue you'll need to follow up to a certain point, and then you're free to go wherever you want, just like in Baldur's Gate. Untill, of course, the end game. As far I can understand, both from webpages I visit and the DA devs. monsters are handplaced?, there are no level scaling like in DA2, the wave combat seems to be gone, and you can actually exploit higher ground during combat. And you can jump (over fences?). Also, if you haven't you should really really click on the linked trailer. It is truly awesome (and that's not a word I use lightly!) and also actual gameplay footage. However, it seems those of you still playing on Windows XP might need to upgrade to Windows 7 as pr. the info in this thread: http://forum.bioware.com/topic/502700-dragon-age-inquisition-system-requirements/

I notice in the discussions on that thread that Leilana figures prominently.
Those pix look fabulous. I am so looking forward to this one.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Thanks for the info Karsten. But I wonder if they removed the party based combat that they had in both Dragon Age: Origins & Dragon Age 2. The trailer sure makes it look that way (looks a lot like the combat in Mass Effect 3, PC against opponent).
