I'm playing Atlantis: The Lost Tales. I am at the point where I have to kill the wild pig with the bow. I am in an area where there are two paths. He will run from right to left across both of the paths. I'm not having much luck here as the pig is too fast for me. Anyone have a suggestion as to how to kill the pig?

Be sure to 'lead' your shot; that is, shoot ahead so he and the arrow will meet.

I forget, but one path is more favorable than the other. I think the right path (first chance) is better. This is a tough spot; be patient, and "pixel-hunt." At least you don't wind up in jail every time you miss!

Hi Tally Ho:

I found by taking the left path forward once and then I turned around 180 degrees that I had a better shot at the pig. Plus he moved much slower than at the other location. So I'm on my way again.

I must have spent over an hour trying to kill that darn pig. That was when I was standing in one location where I could see two paths. The pig moved too quickly there. Then I moved down the left path. That is a more open area and the pig moves much slower too. That was an easier place to kill him

I can't believe it. I spent over an hour trying to kill the pig. Finally nailed him, got the brass ring and dipped the pouch in the blood, only to take it back to the witch and she said I didn't have the blood in the pouch yet. I then went back and spent another hour trying to kill him again. He was running around with the brass ring in his nose. How did he get it back in? Hmm.... I was really too tired since it was getting late, and decided to quit and try another time. But later when I reloaded the game, it started at the point before I even solve the witch's puzzles in the cave. This is driving me nuts. Anyone have a saved game from this point ?
I really want to have bacon for breakfast.

I've seen this several times now and still don't
know what "bump" means.

I don't have a saved game for you. But this is
exactly what happened to me. Most people don't
seem to run into this problem and for the few
that did (after searching back 100 pages in the
hints archive) they never mentioned a resolution
to the problem. If you can't get a save from
someone past this point here is what happened to
me: Don't go back to the previous save (before
the two puzzles) because you will simply run into
the same problem. Instead you must keep killing
the pig, getting the ring, dipping the pouch in
the blood and going back to the witch. At some
point (I'd say three times killing the pig, but
not sure) the witch will tell you still haven't
gotten the blood, BUT, you won't be able to leave
the cave!!! (this is the game's way of telling
you that you are too incompetent to solve the
puzzle so it is letting you move on) Now, turn
to the witch and exhaust all conversation topics
and you can continue the game from there (without
having to kill the pig again).

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, CCBomber--I hope it works for Skippy.

Btw, "bump" is just a way of moving the thread it's posted on back up to the top of the forum...

I did it. I just got lucky. I aimed the bow in his general direction, but not right at him and killed him twice using the same method. The witch also said that I had the bloodsoaked earth in the pouch. Wow ! Pure Luck! I feel better now knowing I haven't been outsmarted by a pig! wink
