Watch Dogs is being launched today. I never ventured outside adventures before.

How does it work? I don't want to be online and play with multiple players, is it possible to play on your own?

I don't want to be constantly shooting people or face incessant timed puzzles.

Should I give Watch Dogs a go or should I forget it?

The whole virtual Chicago and story line appear quite wonderful, this is why I am considering venturing on the dark side on this one.

There is a single player story as well, you don't need to be constantly online. There are many ways to achieve your objective, you can go guns blazing or stealth, but sometimes you can't avoid a confrontation.

I don't mind the obligatory confrontation here and there.

Thanks Butcher, I think I will give it a go.

Perhaps I might be able to find some hints or hacks to make these confrontations easier?

After all it is a game about hacking.

rmt,

there is a "demo" for PS4 HERE, it should be the same for PC.

It looks very slow.

Well, I have bought a PS4 along with Watch Dogs in a bundle. I should receive it early next week.

So I will play it in style, it will be my only game on PS4, I'll let you all know what I think.

I do hope it is slow, because if I have to shoot at targets, I am out of practice. I haven't played a shoot 'em up since 1980 on TRS-80 CoCo 2, shooting asteroids I think... wink

This game is supposed to be a system seller for the PS4. It is on my games to get when I get a PS4.

I love playing adventure games like Gemini Rue on my ipad mini and Gray Matter on my PC Netbook.

The only game that I started so far on PS4 and that I am well on my way to finish, and it cannot be more dark side than this, is The Last of Us. I have not played Watch Dogs yet. Oh, and I really enjoy Contrast as well so far.

I have to say the PS4 has made me stop buying any PC, Mac or iPad games. There is no comparison.

Now, if only a few adventures could come out on the PS4, the Sherlock Holmes is only coming out at the end of September. I might have to give inFamous Second Son a try.

rmt, The Last of Us is very good, Watch Dogs looks not very impressive regards graphics, it is not my kind of game but some people like it. If you want to experience good graphics for PS 4 and pretty good game try Killzone Shadowfall, it uses the potential of the controller very well, it is a game developed just for PS 4.

I think Killzone would be too dark side for me. If it seems like it is just shooting for the sake of it, with no story and nothing resembling an adventure, I stay away. I assessed Killzone to be one of those, could I be wrong? Is it similar to the Last of Us which I truly enjoyed?

I enjoy playing Alien Isolation, but this alien always walking around and killing me at every turn is doing my head in. I wish there was a cheat to get rid of the Alien for the whole game, or better yet, a hack to tame the alien into becoming a lovely adopted pet following me on my missions, and then it would be perfect. I am on the sixth mission I think...

I really love the Killzone games, in particular KZ 2, my favorite game or at least one of a couple. They are challenging games and they do have a story but is not as crucial as in The Last of Us which is a very unusual game. I did not like the ending of KZ Shadowfall despite enjoying the game.

You would probably like Deus Ex Human Revolution but it was released for PS3 not PS4 as far as I know, also there is a PC version. It looks now outdated though. One can play stealthy or kill everything that moves. There are only some bosses that have to be killed. It has a big story.
