Terrific Tuesday ya'll puppy

Up and out to the farmer's market this morning. Sad to say, no one there is organic (it's a very small market) and the peaches, while looking beautiful, were all hard. When I asked about that, the lady said "It's too hard to transport them when they are soft, but they are ripe." So not......bought them last time and had to wait several days for them to get soft enough to eat. Makes me sad.

But I did get blueberries and tomatoes and pole beans happydance

Then home to leash the doggies and walk them a bit in the neighborhood. Started spitting on us 1/2 a block into it but it actually felt nice. We did 3 blocks and then brought the old fellas home (it was hot hot hot) and took myself and the the 2 young ones back out to finish our route.

Followed that by breakfast for me, then the monkeys, and now doing errands to be followed by cleaning and possibly some book cooking...possibly not...depends on my mood. Boys will be here tomorrow for the rest of the week, so I might end up watching Miss Marple's or something similar as I don't get down time with the boys around.

Hubby and I finished season 1 of Justified last night. I've decided I'd rather watch tv shows by the season than have to schedule them in weekly.

Back later wave

My word, L4L, I get tired just reading about all the things you do. In summer I don't sleep as much and after a few days sleepy hits me and that's today. And I just realized I didn't hit submit over in the dark section - a real nice post about Wolfenstein. Maybe I'll join the kits and sleep

The novelty of Penelope Peacock is wearing off. I'm so tired of the poop piles on my deck (have to watch where I step) and her passive/agressiveness with the Outdoorsies. Poor kitties are not used to a huge bird who won't back off. Even my old old old cat Spot, growled at Penelope. Never heard that cat make a sound except a light purr. Wow. And poor Spot had to sleep in an alternate bed last night. Her usual one was taken by Digger, the Tuxedo cat who usually patrols all night. Penelope is harassing her too. Thinking about animal control and if they catch and take stray peacocks.

I woke to Peter coming home at 4am. Nice surprise! yay We spent the day together and now he's at the gym and I'll be going to class in a couple hours.

I made my first attempt at sprouted grain flatbread pizza for lunch and it was phenomenal. I thought I'd have to tweak something but I don't. I also made a big batch of red jalapeno and red Serrano pepper sauce.

It's a rainy day here too so my pups are lounging around.

Nan, I'm out of the corner for now and taking advantage of my freedom. Is it an Abbi day?

Hope you all find something fun in your day.

I'm beginning to think that our local animal shelter has only one employee and he/she is always busy. I called the 'normal' number to report that pesky Peacock that is glomming onto my deck and roof but got only messages. They had an 'emergency' number which I called. I got another recording to call the local police if it was life-threatening, which it wasn't. The recording went on to say that 'the dispatcher is busy with other calls, so please leave a message'. I'm betting they won't call back. Our poor little city is so underfunded for such things. They used to pick up dead animals for free at your house. Now you have to drive over there and pay them 15 bucks just to dispose of a dead animal. Over the 35 years I've been here, I swear I've paid for their facility and all it's workers. rotfl So now I wait for a call back. Hope they will say they are coming right over with a BIG net to capture that cute little peacock. I've lost all patience and want it somewhere on a farm where there will be other big birds to play with. help

Ana, did you sprout your own grains? Dil does sprouted grain breads, but I haven't tried them yet.

Hi ya Manx wave

Sorta, I know our town only has one animal control officer, and I think that is part time...but our town is much smaller than yours. wave

L4L, I only have sprouted grains in the house. We have buns, breads, english muffins, tortillas and pasta. I buy Ezekiel brand. Truthfully, I think they taste netter then regular bread and it doesn't spike your sugar. I still only eat grains once a week because my body doesn't care for them.

So Animal Control actually came. Nice guy, the same one I've seen for years. Just then my neighbor came over and said the peacock belonged 2 doors down to some of the young guys renting a 'boarding home'. Animal Control guy went there, the guys changed their story and said it belonged to the Owners. The Owners are people I know, people who are not nice, and I had their daughter in my class at school long ago. I get along great with the daughter, but the mom stares daggers at me, has forbidden the daughter and husband to talk to me, etc.

So nobody answered that door, and Animal Control left a note to see me at 221 and get their peacock and lock it up or it would be confiscated. I told the guy that they most likely would not contact me. He said to call back if no contact and they would catch the BIG bird and find it a good home. Hooray. I'm sure I will be calling back tomorrow and hopefully get rid of the cute but not fun to have, Penelope Peacock. She is now on my back porch roof, taking down birdhouses which I hung under the eaves. How nice of her. Dirt all over the deck, poop all over deck and driveway, tenant's cars being scratched when she jumps on top of them, and now dismantling my house. rotfl
